I want to make it clear btw: any Mel hate will not be tolerated, especially if it is just for the sake of making jayvik “work”. She is still a girlboss who deserves respect.

If I had a nickel for every time a show I loved belatedly decided to begin a relationship between a gorgeous black woman with magical powers and a latino coded character who was part of a popular gay ship following traumatic events, and the other part of the gay ship became increasingly reclusive following the beginning of said relationship and it divided the Fandom in half because of toxic and racist fans, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
