Noa was sitting against the wall beside Dick’s motel room door, waiting for him to come out. Her head was still pounding from the amount of tequila she’d drank the night before, but it was better than being able to remember everything that had happened.

She didn’t bother looking up when the door opened. Dick turned to peer down at her after shutting it behind him. “Noa?”

“I know.”

“What?”

“I know what you did last night,” Noa explained. She swallowed the lump in her throat. “And i know who you did it with.”

“Noa, I-”

She stood quicker than she should have, but the pain radiating from the back of her head distracted her from the other kind of pain she was feeling. “We’re not together, I get that. I just assumed you at least had the fucking decency not to screw her in the room right next door to mine!”

“Noa-”

“Remember when you used to care? When you would actually take a moment to think about how your actions would impact the people around you?” Noa waited for an answer, but she wasn’t surprised when he couldn’t think of one. “Well, I do and you were right about one thing: I don’t miss you. Not when you’re like this. I miss the old Dick Grayson. The one that I grew up with, the one that I love… loved.”

Dick clenched his jaw as he let out a slow breath. “I never meant to hurt you.”

“You never do, but somehow we always end up in this exact same position. Me in pain and you with someone else,” Noa said as she leaned down to grab her back off the ground. She shrugged as slung it over her shoulder. “Rachel and Gar are the only reason that I’m still here. Once we help Rachel, I’m leaving, and most likely I’m gonna take them both with me because they deserves a hell of a lot more than you can give them.”

With that she pushed past him and headed to the car where Rachel, Gar, and Kory were waiting. Truthfully, she didn’t hold anything against Kory. She had no idea about the history between Noa and Dick. The blame landed solely on Dick this time, but instead of just letting it go, Noa was going to use it to help her move on. If she had anything to say about it, that would be the last time that Dick Grayson ever hurt her.

The music Noa had blasting in the kitchen echoed through the house, waking Hank from his long nap. He rolled out of bed after seeing that he’d overslept by an hour. Noa had either forgotten to wake him or decided he needed that extra time of sleep. Hank pulled on a sweatshirt before descending the staircase to the first floor. It was only then that he realized what song was playing.

My Girl by The Temptations. Otherwise known as their song.

His lips spread into a wide smile when he shuffled into the kitchen. Noa was still in her pajamas just like him as she danced by the stove where she was cooking their dinner. It had been fun, being able to spend the entire day with her, watching movies, eating junk food, and reminiscing about the two years they’d been together.

Noa bobbed her head as she spun in a circle, spatula still in hand. She skidded to a halt, almost thrown off balance by her slippery socks, when she finally noticed Hank watching her. He cocked his head,raising an eyebrow as he smiled down at her. Noa tried to purse her lips, but the urge to smile back at him outweighed her attempt to look serious. A soft laugh tumbled from her mouth as he closed the distance between them and grabbed her hand. She didn’t hesitate to spin into his arms, smirking as he leaned down to kiss her.

“You’re too damn cute,” he murmured against her lips.

“Fuck you,” she said, pulling back. With a wink, she turned her back to him to continue scrambling their eggs. Breakfast for dinner was one of their favorite traditions. “I’m as intimidating as you.”

“Don’t I know it,” Hank replied as he wrapped his arms around her waist and rested his head on her shoulder. If he could, he’d keep them locked in that perfect moment forever, where nothing could touch them.
