im curious to know what yall’s headcanons for ilitw mc’s parents are… canonically they were away for the duration of the book because they were handling something like their aunt’s estate, but what happens after the book? do you guys have different headcanons for where mc’s parents are or their family dynamics in general? and what role do they play in ilw?

i really like the second one because i commissioned it with this quote by christa wolf in mind:
