NoBrandCon Report, May 4-6, 2018

SUPER BELATED POST

Hello,

Last May, I went to my first convention for the year, and after a rusty 2 years, lol. Anyway before I write more about my trips, I’ll like to thank my supporters and everyone that stopped by my table to say hi. I think I ended up spending time on shopping then tabling, but it was still fun. A huge thanks to my partner and friend for putting up with me those three days, and long drive. Driving to Wisconsin was a big step for me, as I’ve never drove so far from home before, but overall everything went smoothly and well. 

Con reporting:

Day 1

I arrived 2 hours before noon, and even then I was not able to set everything up. But, the day was long and tiring since I woke up at 5am and drove for 3.5 hours. The hotel was unexpected, it was smaller than I had in mind, but it was still ok. I liked the service and the scenery.

Though I am a quiet soul, it was awesome to see the amazing artwork surrounding me. On day one, I sold some prints, and my first unexpected wall scroll. Thank you for supporting my work. Later that night, I went to explore the dance floor. I was too shy to dance but everyone else seem to have an amazing time at the dance. 

Day 2

A rather an O-K day. I spent the day at my table mostly, and had my first commission of the con, OC. Sadly, I only had that one, so I was not busy. But is was fine, since I brought my ipad pro along and finished some pieces for zines, I am contributing to. On day 2, I had my small ita bag of kiribaku and it was amazing. Someone commented that they liked my bag of boyfriends, lol. I wanted to add more, but the bag was already tiny. I instead brought buttons and commissioned a button. It was amazing, and I enjoyed my time next to them. I loved her pin-up portfolio, wished I’d gotten one.

After the artist alley, I went to go take photo of my friend, who cosplayed. Then we also visit the dance again.

I was admiring this Yuri on Ice bag the whole time. **LOVE IT**

Day 3

On day 3, I had to end the day shorter. I’ve never ended one so early, so I’m sorry I had to leave. I was there until noon, then packed up. Sale was slow for me, and so I decided to spend my time and money supporting other artist, so I just did that. Lol, my wallet totally cleaned out as I left artist alley into the dealers, but it’s all memorable to me in the end. 

Overall, I still had an awesome time to promote my work, and add to my portfolio. I also donated one of my Naruto bundle, and a special traditional watercolor Sasuke, big chibi to charity. Drove back with a lot of memories and haul of merch. Thank you for the support!

Next up, 2D Con in MN, a gaming convention.
