Not once, but twice, Mashu had tripped into such sensitive territory which resulted in backlash and a rather discouraged Noctis. Afraid of a third, perhaps fatal, encounter with the matters, Mashu had spent the time since busying herself. Learning to adapt to an ordinary city lifestyle, with no apparent clues or answers as to what more there was lurking in the shadows of such a strange place.
Bothersome, and it had been much more tolerable with company to endure it with. Ultimately... she was homesick, and there was nothing to keep herself busy enough to ignore that sensation.
Which only made the void grow larger and deeper, in so many respects. Finding herself alone after a life monitored by people was proving difficult to endure.
