Welcome!
You're standing in cove decorated with books on all three sides, from floor to ceiling the shelves are full of books waiting for the eager dreamer reader to pick them up.
Some books only have one available option, and that's perfectly fine; however, sometimes there is a choice to be made. Do you get the paperback version or the hardcover version. The factor of cost can make this an easy question to answer as paperback tends to be cheaper. The factor of durability can also aid in choosing the hardcover version as the pages are usually more protected against unwanted folding.
For someone like me, I am in the middle. Usually the appearance of a book can sway me to spend a little more on the hardcover, or the pretty sprayed edges featured on some paperbacks will take hold. Because of this, I am often grabbing a hardcover book and removing the dust jacket to see what design lies beneath it. If I am met with simple foiled lettering on the spine, I am likely to choose the paperback version (or whichever one has sprayed edges because I love a good sprayed edge).
That is where this blog comes into play.
I will be starting with hardcover books I currently own (or purchase) and will showcase what the books look like behind the dust jackets.
I will accept requests if there is a book you would like to see as I make frequent trips to bookstores.
