Nylon Guys (Men's fashion magazine, USA)
Assignment work, portraits (2011,2012). Expenses not covered.
"Nylon Guys has repeatedly requested that I make photographs for them for credit only. Once they offered me a pittance for film (not even the cost of the film + processing nevermind any time at the scanner or in post. I don't take them up on these offers."
I'm an editorial and commercial photographer with a solid client list. In reading through the spreadsheet, it has become clear to me that some photographers are just looking at the numbers and not at the bigger picture. For example, even though NYLON pays no money, I will never turn down a shoot for them. Why? Because I get to shoot great subjects and creatives will see it. The photographers turning down fantastic publications like Wonderland & Nylon Guys are losing great opportunities, IMHO!
