Latest updates of tender and bidding process for Noida Aqua Line Metro Extension Project
Noida Metro Rail Corporation NMRC on Monday, April 5 has made sure that the fourth round of bidding for the tender of the Aqua Line Metro Extension project from Noida Sector 51 to Greater Noida Knowledge Park-V is under process. Noida Metro Rail Corporation NMRC officials said that the third round of tender process was canceled in February this year due to a lack of extensive participation in this tender by the construction companies.
NMRC, General Manager (Technical), Manoj Bajpayee, said that we were compelled to cancel the previous tender process due to less participation by construction companies. After the cancellation of the bidding process, we held a video conference with the construction companies keeping in mind the project with some modifications. We will issue the tender again soon with modification.
The previous tenders and bidding process for Noida Aqua Line Metro Extension Project
Noida Metro Rail Corporation NMRC first floated the tender for Aqua-Line Extension in May 2020 and three companies had bid for it, one of which was not a construction company. Due to a lack of good response, the tender was canceled in July.
Subsequently, NMRC issued the tender again in September 2020 and this time it received bids from two construction companies “Sam India and GR Infraprojects” in November, but the tender was canceled by the end of November.
The third time tender was released in December 2020, which was canceled in February this year. According to the Times of India, due to the deadline set by NMRC for the major works of the Noida Aqua Line Metro Extension Project in this tender, construction companies were hesitant to participate in it.
Detailed Project Report DPR of Noida Metro Aqua Line Extension Route has already been approved by the Cabinet of UP Government. No date has been officially announced by NMRC regarding the fourth round of the tender process, although the tender process is expected to begin soon, as the deadline for this project is by end of 2022.
