“Can I pet her?” Cora asked hesitantly, holding her hand out before quickly closing it and biting her lip as she realized she hadn’t yet gotten permission to pet the boy’s horse. Catching his gaze, she waited for Nolan to nod before she placed her hand on Dreamy’s muzzle, gently trailing it down, petting the horse. She smiled, stroking the horse again, turning her head and grinning at Nolan. “She’s so soft. You must brush her a lot.” Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise Coraline. He was so gentle with her, she wouldn’t put it past him to be just as careful with his horse. Turning her attention back to the horse, she reached for her back pocket. Pulling out a carrot, she smiled. “I brought you something, Dreamy.” Sticking it in front of her, Cora fed the treat to the horse, one hand still on her muzzle, slowly stroking the soft hair on the animal.
