It was all too easy to overlook the Shimon Family's boss, and the closer he got to Tsunayoshi the more true that became. The Shimon had been brought under the umbrella of 'Vongola allies,' a status that could make even the somewhat impressive boss of the Cavallone seem less significant in the eyes of the mafia as a whole. Of course, for such a small family as the Shimon, it was a highly protected position, and if the Kozato boy had made the decision consciously Mukuro would have considered it a valuable one.
Either way, Enma Kozato was not by any means an impressive person in life or the mafia, memorable only in that he was pathetic and unmemorable.
But Mukuro had seen him fight. He had seen him break at the hands of Daemon Spade, and he had seen what the boy was capable of with the devil's whispers in his ear. It was nothing short of astounding, and if the opportunity presented itself, Mukuro would gladly take it for his own.
Of course, it wouldn't be easy. Broken people were surprisingly more difficult to get to, especially ones as broken as this. They trusted slower, they were jumpier and harder to get close to. They were expecting it. Mukuro was an expert, however, and he knew people. It would take time, but he would find his way into Enma's life.
As the pair of attackers who had taken the boy down scurried away, Mukuro allowed himself a small sigh of exasperation before approaching. Enma was on the ground, bruised and a bit bloody from the-- not even attackers, just bullies. Well that was quaint. They were outside of the direct jurisdiction of Namimori, so the city's self-proclaimed protector wasn't likely to show up soon, meaning the wallet the boys had stolen was more or less gone for good. Not that he really cared.
Crouching down next to the Shimon boss with an almost bored expression, Mukuro held out a clean handkerchief. "I'm no vigilante so I'm not going to play hero for you, but the least you can do is clean yourself up a bit." No preamble, no menacing air, just a passerby offering the slightest bit of common decency. Never mind the fact that the 'passerby' had a fearsome reputation that could make most hardened mafioso shudder.
