tobi lou Proves His Career Is 'Non-Perishable'

Timelessness is an abstract concept, but one that every artist strives for, nonetheless. While the instant gratification of having people call music a “certified classic” upon release isn’t always achievable, Nigeria-bred tobi lou might have concocted the perfect recipe. Despite his averseness to conventionality, his 2018 single “Darlin’” and his well-loved 2019 album Live on Ice have stood the test of time in everyone’s playlist, and still sit amid the most popular plays in his discography. With tobi lou’s latest record, Non-Perishable, we think he’s done it again.
Another concept both abstract and timeless is love. A common thread in the record, tobi lou examines stages of a relationship through different mediums of sound. The artist doesn’t subscribe to any one genre, so you’ll find influence from everywhere throughout Non-Perishable’s eleven-track run. Starting off with trap-infused “Hopeless Romantic” and ending with R&B ballad “The Last Dance,” he covers all of the bases.
“Babycakes” immediately stands out, sampling neo-soul group Durand Jones & The Indications’ “Cruisin’ to the Park” for a heart-melting exploration of infatuation. Although there’s nothing as wholesome as driving with your lover to your favorite place, tobi lou goes on to detail the rip-your-clothes-off phase of finding love, rapping, “Fuck me in the latest truck / Fuck me on the regular/ Money like a register / Runnin’ cross America.”
Without hesitation, the energy immediately picks up with the next track. “Meaningless” boasts a UK garage beat as an interesting juxtaposition between its solemn lyrics, diving into the wistful feelings of unreciprocated love. Heartbreak doesn’t stop there, continuing with a rework of his 2020 hit “2hrs,” now featuring a soul-stirring verse from T-Pain.
The rest of the record isn’t as cute as “Babycakes,” but it does prove tobi lou’s self-aware assessment of introductory track, “Hopeless Romantic.” The finale comes as a collaboration with CHIKA, again probing the bubbling uncertainties in a relationship. In a T R A P S O U L fashion, he gracefully merges his verses with CHIKA’s enchanting vocals, grappling with the contradictions of wanting to find love, but wondering how and if it fits into your life.
Love isn’t a new topic, but tobi lou’s DIY manner of fusing varying subgenres and artists into one cohesive record ensures a comfortable unpredictability that makes you want to listen to it over and over again. And for that, it just might be timeless.

As I continue to give...
Okay Tumblr I need a little help here. Not monetary just in suggestions.
I found out recently that one of my best friends from high school (high School being 35 years ago- so we've known each other forever) is having a really hard time and having to get food from the food bank.
I want to send her and her wife some food through a mail order service but I also want to send things that are non-perishable and fairly light.
Right now I have dried beans, coffee and granulated stevia because stevia is just as good as sugar and about a billion times lighter.
I'm waiting to find out what some of her and her wife's favorite candies are so I can add a little bit of that because God knows if you are going to the food bank you usually do not have anything extra for treats.
But I need suggestions on more non-perishable food items that I can add.

The Goal To be successful in a competition, one must live a life of abstinence in regards to many things that make a comfortable life. The goal of winning in the competition becomes the life's centre. It is important to train the body and mind for this endeavour. This does not happen overnight, it takes a lot of hard work and commitment to get there, up to the pint of self denial. Only if the body and mind is fit for the purpose, we can be successful. In the same fashion, we have to train our body and mind. So we can gain our everlasting and non perishable crown. The crown that will last forever and brings us eternal life. Unlike the crown a competitor receives after winning a competition, this crown is perishable, will not last forever and will certainly not give us everlasting life. Of course we can not earn the everlasting crown, it is a gift from God. But there is a desire within us, to show our love to God by obeying his laws. Even though we hold his love regardless of what we do, we want to follow his laws because we want to show our respect. Because we want to return, by some minor degree, his love. Because we want to feel worthy of his love. We will not be very successful right away. It requires training, perseverance and the right mindset to be successful. Just like a competitor that wants to win, we need to have the desire to want to win. And just like the competitor, we have to train our mind and body, to be ready to own the everlasting crown. We can achieve this by following God, by obeying his commands, and by internalising his word. And for this it is important to keep our goal in focus, just like the competitor does. “Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” - 1 Corinthians 9:25 NIV

How To: Store Non-Perishable Food
About Storing Non-Perishable Foods
It may not seem necessary to give much attention to the storing of foods that don’t spoil so easily, but there are very good reasons why such foods require careful storage.
If they are not properly taken care off they start to loss the flavor by exposure to the air, they start absorbing the most, which produces a favorable opportunity for the growth of molds, also the attacks of insects and vermin begin.
The best way to take care for such foods is to store them in tightly closed vessels. Coffee, earthenware, glass jars, lard pails and cocoa cans, all carefully cleaned and having lids to fit, prove to be very satisfactory receptacles for such purposes. Unless coffee, tea, cocoa, spices, prepared cereals and other likewise food are bought in cans or moisture-proof containers, they should be emptied from the original packages and placed in jars which that can be tightly closed, that way they will not deteriorate by being exposed to the air or moisture. For convenience and economy, these jars or cans should be labeled.
Sugar and salt absorb moisture and form lumps when exposed to the air and you should keep them safe aswell. A tin receptacle is the best kind for sugar, but for salt an earthenware or glass vessel should be used for best storing. It is not smart to put these foods or any others into cupboards in paper bags, because foods kept in this way make disorderly looking shelves and are easily accessible to vermin, which are always attracted to food which it is not well protected.
Canned goods bought in tin cans do not need very careful storage. It is sufficient to keep them in a place dry enough to prevent the cans from rusting.
Foods canned in glass, however, should be kept where they are not exposed to the light, as they will become more or less discolored unless they are stored in dark places. Flour, meals, and cereals stored in quantities, after time start developing mold unless they are kept very dry. So for the storing of these foods, therefore, wooden bins or metal-lined boxes kept in a dry place are the most satisfactory.
This is pretty much the whole guild you need on how to store your Non-perishable goods.
