Whelp

I got a letter from the disability court about my teleconference hearing.

My hearing is on July 13th, which is remarkably earlier than it would have been if it were being conducted in person. My lawyer’s confirming because another client had the same sort of notice followed by a notice that they weren’t scheduling anything right now.

Here’s hoping the rest of this goes well.

Finances

So, mum was officially laid-off after work hours on Friday. She’ll be brought back once there’s workload again. She basically was laid-off so that she’ll be on unemployment, rather than directly paid.

I’m having to go through our finances and cut any non-essential subscriptions. The only game subscription I’m going to keep is my primary XIV account.

It’s a lot of tedious staring at transaction lists.

More Updates

I got my 2 TB SSHD yesterday. Installing it was a touch weird, but I got it done. 3D assets are about 40% transferred to the new drive.

Since they were so cheap, I got a second one to replace my programme/games drive. So I’ll be up to 1 SSD and 2 SSHDs.

Mum got told yesterday that she’s getting furloughed. She doesn’t have to work next week, but will be paid for it. They’re trying to reassign people, but that’s mostly to Covid operations, which mum can’t do. She’s over 65, and lives with an immunocompromised person (me), so she’s likely going to have to file for Unemployment.

We’re lucky in the fact that she’s got her SSI, however, it’s not enough to cover all our expenses. Her SSI + paycheck barely covers things.

So, we’ll see how things shakedown. I’m hoping the new proposal coming into Congress gets passed. It’s for 2000/mo for six months for every American, with an additional 500-1000 for children and dependants. We kinda got screwed on the last one cus I’m a dependant to mum, but over 17, so we didn’t get the extra.

Bored

I’ve acquired so many 3D assets, I’ve had to shift around my drive structures.

Currently, nearly 1 TB of assets are being moved from a 1 TB drive to a 1.5 TB drive. Both of which are old HDDs, and one isn’t even the 57,000 type.

I’ve ordered a 2 TB SSD that was on a flash sale (it’s a Seagate, my current main SSD is a Seagate, so I went for it) for under 80.00, but it won’t be here till Thursday.

So I’ll have to do this again then. But it will be worth it.
