I've dreamed of this moment

My kid discovered his first loose tooth this morning. I asked what he thinks the tooth fairy will bring him when it comes out and he replied that actually he would like to keep his tooth. In a little jar. On a shelf.

I have never felt more connected to my child than I do in this moment.

We Had Steak for Dinner (aka Mom Fail)

Child, age 4 - "is that meat?"

Me - "yes"

Child - "is it from an animal?"

Me - "...Yes? A cow."

Child - "That's a COW!?"

Me - "Yes... but only part of one"

Child - "They CUT OUT part of a cow??"

Me (realizing I've fucked up but not knowing how to fix it) - "Yes... but the cow was dead so it didn't hurt"

Also Me - 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Child - "Do they put the cow back together after?"

Me (starting to panic) - "...No."

Child - "WHY?????" 😢😫

Me - "Yay! Does that mean I'm really smart?"

Child - "No"

Me - "...Oh"

Child - "You're a little bit smart, but not really smart"

Me - "...That's fair"
