"Okay now go left!"

"M-My left or yours?!"

The answer doesn't come. Before either of them could react, Ti'zo plunges into the ground. Shockwaves hit the ground and make the architect bounce from where he stood and onto the ground. His butt slams hard onto the realm's floor. Making the blond yelp in pain.

Instantly both Reader and Ti'zo come to his side. The not so little bat seemed to be making soft noises as he nuzzled Kaveh's face. As if to apologize for going a bit hard with his move.

"A-Are you okay?! I'm sorry, Ti'zo got a bit carried away and—"

"I-I'm fine!" Kaveh reassured them both. Yes his rear hurt a bit, but that's just how sports tended to be like. With unexpected injuries. "Just give me a moment to compose myself. That really was a good move, Ti'zo!"

The imp lets out a happy skree. Of course he was proud, but he goes back to offer another sympathetic nuzzle on the blond's cheek.

"I'm fine! Really! But I'm sure I'll be feeling that in the morning." He said, laughing with a smile. Cultural exchange was never easy, but they were always fun.

The dining hall was bustling as Byleth entered looking for a hot meal after a busy afternoon in the training grounds. It had been both exhausting and satisfying challenging her students to improve their combat arts. She'd gone for 3 minute rounds in the ring with each of them to get an understanding of their current skills and potential development. None had bested her but there had been some close calls and interesting bouts.

Tiredly she made her way over to the serving table and selected a couple of dishes, loading up a tray. Surveying the room she tried to spot a free space to collapse into and consume her meal but she might be out of luck. It was as though everybody at the academy had decided they wanted to dine now, leaving little room.

She was about to give up and resign herself to having to return later when she noticed Elincia trying to catch her attention across the room. Going over there she saw the young queen indicating a spare seat next to her. Byleth sank into it and a grateful smile graced her features as she thanked the Crimean royal.

"Thank you. I'll warn you now but I might not be the best conversationalist at the moment. It's been a long day and I just want to eat and get to bed."

On a rare day off, Byleth decided to explore the monastery to get to know her surroundings a little better. She was currently checking out the professor's lodgings. Although a professor herself, she was housed in the student dorm area out in the grounds rather than the top floor of the main building.

Most of the other teachers were out on a mission, in the town shopping or attending to other tasks. Their absence made her want to nose around their rooms despite knowing this was rude and the doors were probably locked. Still the temptation was there. You could learn a lot about a person from their personal quarters.

Picking the door closest to her, she knelt down and picked the lock. Pushing the now unlocked door open she looked around at the bows lined up on the wall, arrows placed on the desk for mending. At the head of the bed she could just make out something poking out from the top of the covers. Clothes filled the wardrobe, a mix of practical with a few prettier, more formal dresses among them. It was fairly basic.

Byleth walked over to the desk to look in the drawers. As she bent over she heard a cough behind her causing her to stiffen in surprise. Turning she came fact to face with an unimpressed Setsuna glaring at her from the doorway.

"Err... hello." Byleth said awkwardly. "Nice to meet you, just looking around you know. Your door was open and I wanted to make sure no-one had broken in"

It was late as Byleth made her way back through the upper corridors of the Monastry. That staff meeting with the Archbishop had gone on a lot longer than she had expected, she'd been struggling to keep her eyes open towards then end and was looking forward to making it to her room and bed.

As she past the library, she noticed the soft glow of candlelight spilling out under the door. A student getting in some late night studying? Regardless, they should really be in bed now. Cracking the door open, Byleth glanced in and clocked eyes with an unexpected sight.

Edelgard sleeping, her head resting on the open book she'd been reading. It was kind of sweet although she winced at the sore neck the young empress would likely have in the morning. It didn't look to be the most comfortable of positions.

Hesitant to wake the house leader, Byleth shrugged off her cloak and draped it over the girl's slumbering body. At least she'd be a little warmer now. Deciding that a bed would be better than a chair, she carefully lifted Edelgard wrapped in the cloak and began carrying her back to the dorms. The girl slept on.

Byleth noticed the proud lion-like mane of hair across the courtyard. The royal professor was casually observing the students he was teaching, currently sparring on the ground before him. Originating from Hoshido, his sword skills were unfamiliar to her, the subtly curved blade of his katana contrasting with the straight of her own. She wondered about the effect this had on attacks.

His crossed arms and thoughtful expression as he watched the fight belied his intellect as a keen warrior. She would be interested in picking his brain at some point, expand her own combat knowledge. Perhaps he had an upcoming seminar she could attend.

Crossing the space, she moved into his line of sight a waved her hand in a small gesture to attract his attention. Confident he'd noticed her she went up to the samurai.

"Excuse me. I'm not certain we've met properly yet but I find myself intrigued by your use of the blade. If you have a seminar or time to show me some of its intricacies that would be very useful to my own studies."

Enquiry made, Byleth then bade the King farewell as he had a class to teach and she didn't want to take up too much of his time. She offered a second wave as she departed.

"Let me know when you have time but I'll leave you to continue teaching for now."

Zagreus grips her hand firmly and with a flash of light the pact is sealed. He can feel her power rush through his veins as an inviting blush descends upon his cheeks. It’s always most difficult dealing with the after effects of a god’s boon immediately after receiving it. That’s when their influence is strongest. It always washes over him like a wave-- changing him a little from the inside out. It wasn’t major, it was still him after all, but it left him a bit different. A bit more feral, or loose-limbed with relaxation, a little more ruthless. 

Now he can feel the tickle of vanity under his skin. The desire to find a mirror to check his own appearance, to make sure that he’s as alluring as he knows he is is so strong he almost can’t ignore it. 

He shakes out his arms and grabs Varatha again. If the wretches do a double take when he attacks, the beauty of his wrath art in motion... That’s a them problem. He’ll take any advantage that he can get, thank you.

Theseus gasped, hand clutching his chest. His lungs feel too wide for his ribcage, rapidly expanding as he sucked in air. It was a strange sensation-- expecting pain and getting.. euphoria.

He felt the stinging well of tears as he struggled to get a grip not only on his own body but also his emotions. He felt out of control-- Like his heart could leap right out his chest untethered. This was.. so much. Theseus hadn’t given his heart so freely since-- since ever actually. Despite his proclivities, the man had always been quite shy when it came to matters of the heart. And though he loved all his partners genuinely, he’d never truly been able to give that part of himself over. And yet now... now he wanted to run off and gallivant, leap and dance and bear his heart to the first person he came near.

 His eyes were wide, almost afraid. 

“What.. What have you done to me?”

cook + reverse, la muerte with eurydice

Eurydice sighs, offering La Muerte a smile as she placed a plate in front of her. Recently, the Prince had begun bringing her fish, claiming that between his own catches and the newly instituted “aquarium” that the head chef of the house had more fish than he knew what to do with. Which meant that in his endless generosity, the excess fell to her, she supposed. She didn’t mind though. This gave her a chance to start trying new things with her recipes down here. Today it was trout ( Ha.. How on earth did he manage to capture one of those? ) pan-seared and served with a dash of pomegranate gremolata and pita. 

Sitting across from the.. goddess? She waited until her guest began eating to do likewise. The last time they’d talked, Eurydice had been in a bit of a mood, and La Muerte had been kind enough to knock her out of it. Firm yet Gentle. Eurydice hoped that she could be a better host this time. 

“How is it? I hope it’s to your liking. After all, it’s the least I could do for you all things considered.”
