I adored Nope as a film but I think what I loved most looking back is how masterfully the trailers were crafted. They pieced together out of context scenes perfectly to give you an unsettling feeling without giving anything away. A horse in a glass box, air dancers powering down, a girl with a deformed face. These shots all piqued your interest, but the way they fit into the story wound up being different than you could have expected. That first trailer left me more excited for a film than I’ve ever been and I think it’s as much of a masterpiece as the movie itself.
