On her walk to the farm that morning, Madi saw two different fires flame up near her because somebody near couldn’t control their fires, which only propelled Madi to get moving on the fireproofing plan of her. There were so many new fire attuned, probably more people figuring out their powers than the island has ever experienced, and just a single mistake or spark could do horrible damage.
So once she got to the farm, she said hi to everyone working already, did a quick round on the apiary, added some more orange peels into the baskets, and then off she went, circling the farm, scoping out which trees would work the best for her plan.
Nora was mostly around the farm, sometimes trying to help out wherever she could, while other times just aimlessly going around, checking on things and Madi assumed trying to pass the time. She wondered sometimes what drew the woman to the farm of all things, but they didn’t really talk that much. Nora was polite, nice, but somehow they often managed to just miss each other.
This time, however, they sort of passed each other closely (and by closely it meant a couple of meters away from each other, which was kind of close for them), and on a whim instead of just simply passing Nora and greeting her, she stopped and clocked back, catching up to her. “Hey. Nice morning, right? Kind of chilly, but nice. Are you-- you know, are you working on anything right now?”
