Holding her close...
🎵 It's the age-old story where an evil boy meets an evil girl,
We got love strong enough to rule the whole wide world!
We both maniacally laugh at all the same stuff,
You can't foil the plan that's built on an evil love! 🎵
The first time we met
Fawful's sweetest Valentine…
Norine's backstory & how she met Fawful
Norine was born in a noble family, which was known for their powerful magic abilities. However, Norine was different from them – her magic was so strong, that it could easily put her in life danger. So in order to keep her from dying, her magic had to be controlled by a special necklace. Sadly, that also meant that Norine's magic was weaker under the effects of that necklace, especially when compared to the other members of her family. That caused her parents to neglect her severely, taking all of their attention on Norine's other siblings, Revaddo and Cyclonica whose magic wasn't unstable.
Ever since she was young, Norine believed that she was born with a curse that needed to be cured. She was jealous that her siblings were getting all of the attention and respect from everyone around the Sol Kingdom, while she was usually brushed aside. Norine had especially held a grudge against her own parents for leaving her in the dark, and she eventually tried to cut contact with them while going to the college.
Norine was given a medical herbalist degree, since she had believed it'd bring her closer to healing her "curse". However, finding a cure wasn't easy in practice – even with her degree, Norine struggled to make something out of nothing. And her already low confidence wasn't helping, either. At the same time her experiment had failed, Norine wanted to give up so badly. Despite her bottling a lot of her feelings deep inside, the Vaphorian had felt so alone.
And then, at the same time, her phone had suddenly rung. Unexpectedly, her younger sister, Cyclonica was inviting her on a trip to the Mushroom Kingdom where her university was located. Obviously, Norine wasn't too fond of hanging out with any of her siblings. But after Cyclonica told her about "free food", the other Vaphorian had ended up agreeing to come along.
At first, everything was okay. In fact, Norine actually enjoyed hanging out with Cyclonica and Revaddo and even wondered whether her previous judgement wasn't too overexaggerated. But... everything fell apart once it had turned out that Cyclonica had secretly invited their parents, who have arrived a little later due to something else happening. Since she hated conflicts in her family, Cyclonica had hoped that maybe Norine would make up with their parents.
However, Norine ended up leaving once she realized that her sister had lied to her. Although Cyclonica tried to explain and apologize for not telling her about it, Norine didn't forgive her.
Since Norine had arrived to the Mushroom Kingdom for a day, her flight was booked for tomorrow... so the Vaphorian decided to hide within the Dimble Woods. She felt like a big, emotional ticking bomb that was about to explode... so she'd rather spend her time far away from everyone, so that they wouldn't see her in a fragile state.
Once she was far enough, Norine had a breakdown, upset how the world was treating her. Much to her dismay though, she wasn't actually alone in that forest.
A beanish man in a gray cloak had heard Norine's ranting. He was shocked to see a lone Vaphorian in such a state. It made him overly curious, since Vaphorians were known to have great magic abilities.
In fact, she'd be perfect for his kingdom conquering plans, he thought to himself.
Seeing her struggle, he had calmly approached Norine, even lending out a hand towards her. The Vaphorian wasn't too trusting of strangers like him, though. She had jumped away from him as soon as she realized he was there.
Even though she had threatened him with her magic, Fawful remained calm. He explained how he's not "willing to inflict any kind of harm" upon Norine, and how he just wanted to help her. Since he had heard her ranting, Fawful had offered her to join him in his kingdom conquering plans. And although Norine wasn't too convinced at first, Fawful had told her how she'd be free to do whatever she wants (as long as it's not harming him obviously), and how she'd show those that hurt her how wrong they were about her. In the end, Norine ended up getting convinced to join him.
At first, their relationship was more business-like. But the more they spoke with each other, the closer they got...
HAPPY HOLIDAYS Y'ALL!!
