It may take decades to see a Starbucks branch in the Western and Northern parts of Cebu. But then again there's @tuburancafe ! While we were having a #NorthernCebu #roadtrip with the #FordTerritory , we made a stop at Tuburan Cafe. This cafe makes amazing #coffee concoctions from locally sourced coffee beans. Courage has been something I’ve had to become more familiar within the last year. Courage doesn’t mean you don’t feel fear, it means you don’t bow to fear. It means you keep your head up and trust in God’s plan for your life. It means to let go of all control and place your life in His hands. It means trying something you’ve never done before. Courage can look like many things, and the places courage can take you is absolutely beautiful. Our walk in life was never meant to be easy breezy, but filled with moments where we get to choose to overcome and kick fear in the face by choosing courage. So lovely, whatever’s in front of you that “feels” way too big or scary, you got courage. I look back on my life and see the faithfulness of His love over and over again. At one point I had completely rejected Him. I thought I had disappointed Him enough in my walk that I was no longer worthy of Him. But then, I was wrong. It’s crazy how much the enemy will pour his energy in wanting God’s children to never know how loved they are. Because when we know how loved we are, we become unstoppable. We become a walking force and light that completely demolishes every schemes of the enemy. You see, nothing can separate us from His love. That’s why when Jesus was on the cross, taking sin upon Himself, The Father had to turned His back on His own Son. Jesus cried, “Father, why have you forsaken me?”. The Father had turned His back on Jesus so that He would never have to do the same with us. And now, even in our lowest moments, God has not forsaken us. His love is still just as strong for us. It’s His love and commitment to us will ultimately change us over and over again. Oh how His love changed me, and still is.. #traveldiary #thoughts #realizations #northerncebu #rural #writingmood

Something I’ve learned in the past is that God isn’t looking for people who have it all together and are perfect and all put together. What He wants us our hearts, real and raw and mess and all. When we compare our believes to others we put people in a box and great barriers between the very people God sent us to love. It’s okay to make mistakes and to feel things and to have regrets and find love and lose it. It’s okay to have doubts and be confused and understand that life isn’t as black and white as it seems. Because it’s not about where we arrive but the process that gets us there. The daily ins and outs of real life. It doesn’t always make sense. It often hurts more than we think it should. But it’s crazy and beautiful and it’s meant to be Lived. We are not created to stay safe in the corner and never take risks, we were meant to sit out on the edge. The view is so much better from there. And it’s often in the most unlikely of places (and from the most unlikely of people) that we learn the most about who we were meant to be and what this whole life thing is all about. It’s crazy and painful and beautiful, all at the same time. And I never want to stay safe, but live every day with a fearless confidence that I am never alone and it’s okay to be vulnerable.
