CHARITY SHOP FINDS!
Hello and Happy Monday everyone! Today we thought we’d showcase some of our favourite finds from charity shops (thrift stores if you’re across the pond) so you, if you’ve not already, can discover the awesome things they have available!
Cups, cups, cups!
Pictured above, these are a selection of cups/glasses/mugs etc. we’ve discovered over about a year’s time. The two on the left were in a ‘3 items for £2’ promotion in the Sue Ryder Foundation in St Helens town centre. We loved the leftmost glass, it’s really tall and thin and has a super cool retro-style pattern which really caught our eyes! The middle cup, also from Sue Ryder, is a cute as hell Snoopy cup (who doesn’t love Snoopy/Charles Schulz!) and it’s the perfect size for a cup of tea before bed. The cup on the right we got from a charity shop in Hatfield (it was about a year ago and we can’t remember the name of the shop!) and it came in a set of four, for only £1! They’re a really handy size for getting the maximum number of cups out of a pot of tea/coffee, and the retro design is really appealing!
Flask!
As you’re probably aware by now, we live for hot caffeinated beverages, and now that the weather’s taking a bit of a downward turn, this beautiful Yuki Torii designed flask is perfect for long walks/picnics in the great outdoors! The simple flower design is gorgeous, and in terms of practicality - this flask has a vacuum bottle (I don’t quite understand the mechanics of it) which keeps all liquids super hot for ages!
'Kitchen Things' Pot
This was the third item in the ‘3 for £2’ Sue Ryder Foundation promotion we mentioned earlier, and we thought it was a great little gift for Laura’s mum. It’s very old school looking, and the simple colour scheme goes with the whole aesthetic of the kitchen. It’s a great size for holding all sorts of, well… kitchen things, like whisks, ladles, spatulas and so on, and looks damn good while doing it!
Charity shops (in general)
They’re always fun places to check out if you’re bored! There’s always something interesting in them, be that clothing, home decor, books, DVDs, music, so it’s always worth a rummage. There’s a definite treasure-hunting feel to it, much like vintage shopping, but the price-tags make sure you’re never feeling guilty about how much you’ve spent. We implore you to go and check out some of your local charity shops/thrift stores, and see what you can find!
Send us submissions of some of your favourite finds, we’d love to hear your stories!
Hey guys! We've compiled a little survey that takes less than 5 minutes to fill out, but it's really helpful for us here at NorthSouth DIY!
We'd be extremely grateful if you filled it out for it!
