#noSpoonsLeftOnlyKnives #SpoonTheory explains chronic conditions and their impacts on a #spoonie’s ability to carry out even seemingly simple/basic or even pleasurable or enjoyable tasks using the idea that everyone has a pool of spoons when they start their day that they can use to complete day-to-day tasks like brushing their hair or driving to work. Healthy people often end their days with spoons to spare as they often start with more to begin with and can do them efficiently. The #SpoonieSquad on the other hand... some of us start with fewer spoons each day, for others even “basic” tasks take more spoons to do because there’s something making them harder. For some, they have a small pool of spoons AND their tasks take more spoons than the “Av-er-age Bear”! For instance, right now with the injuries from my fall, even just hobbling to the bathroom uses up a chunk of my spoons just from having to use a cane to get there and the pain that doing so flares up. Got some treats in the mail so I thought I'd give you guys a trick and show them off in my bat hoodie! 👻 First is my shirt my husband got me. It says, "Not spoons left, only knives." Wish it wasnt so tight but we even got it in XL which is normally big on me and yet this shirt is a super tight baby T. This is why I hate womens sizing. I'm still gonna wear it of course.
