What is beta ?

A beta reader! Basically, like an editor but for your fics! Beta work can consist of a few different things of different scopes, depending on what the writer is looking for and amount of time the beta is willing to put in. Personally, I check for spelling and grammar, as well as offer suggestions for how to rearrange sentences and alter word choice for better narrative flow. Additionally if the author is comfortable with it, I’ll offer thoughts on characterization and dialogue if things strike me as out of character; occasionally, I’ll even write a few sentences in comments that I think might add to the story.
