Rewatching Astro Boy (2009) right now and I have a headcanon/theory or whatever that Astro does actually act like Toby in the beginning, but his dad is just so absent that he does not know his son.
#cause we see how mischievous and such Toby is when we first meet him#like that’s literally how he dies#and the homeschooling segment where Astro is goofing off#he is a perfect replica of Toby!#I don’t know how much that impacts the story#but their dad is so blinded by grief I don’t really think it matters either way#nothing would have been good enough#Astro acting exactly like Toby#or completely different#or even exactly how Tenma remembers him#nothing will ever be good enough#nothing would ever replace toby#Astro boy#dr tenma#Toby Tenma#? i guess#idk I’ve never posted about this before#Astro and Toby would be best friends tho#I stand on that#Astro boy 2009#idk maybe this is obvious#but it’s been a long ass time since I’ve seen this movie
