I actually DO like the idea of them being exes, because it helps me fuel the fluttercord fire AND I kinda love the idea of Celestia being the original fluttercorder. alarajrogers actually explained it pretty awesomely (<– Is…Is that a word?) after I mused over Celestia shipping it.
So actually, in my headcanon, Celestia is the captain of the fluttercord ship and she has an awesome fluttercord leather jacket that we lowly sailors can only dream of having. And she looks really good in it.
Also, I understand why people ship the two. They have good headcanons for ‘em.
And I used to like, hiss at dislestia stuff, because I’m HORRIBLE with ships. Like “NO, ALL MY SHIPS ARE EXCLUSIVE AND I DO NOT WANNA SEE IT”, but now I’m less horrible. I never bashed others for liking different ships than me, but I can appreciate some art and stuff I’ve seen that’s dislestia.
But I don’t hate Celestia. I mean, dang, look at them eyes and dat hair. Oooh, and I saw a pic the other day of Celestia sitting in the grass, and the pile of her stuff sitting away from her–her crown, her hoof-slipper-gold-whatevers, her necklace….A ‘naked’ Celesta. So pretty…
But no, I don’t ship dislestia. I’m a fluttercorder. Celestia is the captain of our ship to me.
But…To me, shipping can be a problem, so…

I mean, I know a lot feel the same way about fluttercord, but to me Fluttershy is all grown up and time doesn’t apply to Discord because he’s immortal (supposedly). But Spike? They call him a ‘baby’ dragon, but I mean, he’s not in diapers like he was when he hatched at Twilight’s exam. THAT was a BABY. What’s Spike now? And how old is he in dragon years? Is that different from pony years? Is it like dog years, where one human year is seven dog years, or what? Though I guess it’d be backwards here….1 dragon year, like 50 pony years.
