Blaine hadn’t planned on watching Nova perform at this music festival, but Emilia said that she wanted to watch her friend perform, and Blaine didn’t realize who that friend was until it was too late. He wasn’t going to ruin his sister’s time by telling her about his strife with the performer, so he grinned and bore it. There was also a booth selling alcohol immediately adjacent to the stage, which helped. By the end of the set, Emilia found friends to hang out with, Blaine was drunk, and he... didn’t have a terrible time. As he went to get another drink, of course he ran into Nova. That was just his luck. “Hi... That, uh, wasn’t bad,” he admitted, not sober enough to lie to her.

Blaine didn’t feel inclined to ask for the day off from work to attend the parade, so he didn’t join in on any festivities until it came time for the after party performances. He liked music and free alcohol, so that was enough to draw him in. He wasn’t exactly surprised to see that Nova was one of the performers after her set at La Playa, but he was slightly surprised that he ran into her again while getting a drink. “Funny we keep running into each other like this. You want a drink?”
