So I bought the Transformers One novelization. (I saw an early screening of the movie already so I didn't need to worry about being spoiled.) I wanted to see if there were any major changes or deleted scenes included in the book. There were not.

BUT . . .

So you know how Hasbro worries about "transforming" becoming too common of a term, like "xeroxed" or "googled" and losing the rights to the word or whatever? So they always talk about "converting" their toys instead?

WELL. In the book they hilariously rename t-cogs (transformation cogs) to "conversion cogs."

This does not happen in the movie btw, in the movie it's t-cogs all the way.

i just read Dead Poets Society and in the book the Dead Poets were Neil's pallbearers and im crying

oh gosh i never finished that book because it angered me so much but wow…. that made me sad just to read.

but on the topic of your question about book i am going to say this: don’t read it. it’s so awful. like… here’s an entire tag of me complaining about how awful it is!

surprisingly… this book handles todd’s abusive father being the source of his insecurities rather…. well? strange coming from such a bad book.

you’re welcome! you really aren’t missing out on much. the only changes from the movie so far have been bad, besides a couple hints of todd having abusive parents [ i.e. says he’d take neil’s dad over his own, is seen in a photograph of his family standing separated from his parents and brother ] and struggling academically [ i.e. mentions his grades weren’t good enough to enter welton so he had to go to another school to boost them ]. though they probably weren’t intentional by the author, who at this point i feel like really didn’t care about improving the source material at all. nor do i think he has a grip on any of the characters, but especially mr.keating and charlie. so yeah, save your money and just watch the movie instead.

the only good thing about this book is some good neil/todd moment... literally that's it.
