“I know you’re busy today, but could you add me to your to-do list?”
You sighed and closed the book you were trying to read. You had hoped for some peace and quiet after class but somehow he always knew where you were.
“What can I do for you, Baekhyun?” you asked, looking up at said boy. He was leaning against the wall with a cocky smile on his face and you couldn’t help but roll your eyes. It was the same thing almost every day.
“I went to the doctor today,” he continued with that stupid smirk of his, completely unfazed by your obvious unwillingness. “He said I lacked Vitamin U.”
A sudden urge to hit your head against the wall washed over you but an involuntary smile spread over your face. You had gotten used to his shenanigans by now. He was like this with every pretty girl on campus so you had learned to not take him seriously. He would lose interest someday though you would probably miss your daily dose of bad pick-up lines.
“No way, that’s so lame,” you groaned, hating how you had to bite back a laugh. He was kind of charming in his own way. “I think you’re losing your touch.”
His smirk slipped for a second and he sat down in front of you, a determined crease between his eyebrows. He put on a wider smirk that would probably have made any other girl swoon and leaned in closer, “If you were a vegetable you’d be a cute-cumber.”
This time you couldn’t hold back your laughter and his smirk turned to a pout.
“Baekhyun, you hate cucumber. You threw it at Junmyeon last week because he forgot and got you the wrong sandwich,” you laughed, shaking your head.
“Oh,” he grinned devilishly, resting his head on his arms trying to act cute. “You do notice me after all. You find me irresistible, huh?”
You rolled your eyes again and got up. “Kinda hard not to when you scream like a banshee,” you said. “Now if there isn’t anything else, I’m gonna go find somewhere I can finish reading this in peace.”
Baekhyun’s hand shot out and grabbed your arm before you could get up. His eyes were wide and pleading, all traces of the confident smirk gone.
“Okay I see this is clearly not working,” he said, letting go of your arm only to grab your hand instead. “Y/N, I’ve been trying for weeks now. What do I have to do to get just one date?”
A beat passed as you waited for the punch line and his trademark smirk but when nothing happened you fell back into your seat. His hand felt almost burning around your own.
“You’re serious…” you said, mostly to yourself. You had never even entertained the idea that he might have actually tried to flirt with you for real because he was always messing around.
He grinned awkwardly and gave a little shrug. “Yeah I guess I’m not really good at being serious,” he admitted and you smiled. His real smile was a lot cuter than the smirk. “But I do like you. A lot. And I was really hoping to spend some time with you. On a date? Maybe?”
“Well, it’s the perfect weather for some ice cream isn’t it?” you smiled, your cheeks feeling warm.
Baekhyun’s face lit up and he bounced around excitedly as he started babbling about some cute ice cream place he knew. It wasn’t exactly how you had thought this day would end, but you weren’t disappointed. In fact, you were quite excited to see where this would go.
