Though today Applin can be found all around the world, the first population of Applin has been traced by geneticists to Kazakhstan. Today, Kazakhstan is very proud of its Applin, and every year the International Applin Festival - a place for Applin, Flapple, and Appletun lovers to get together - is held in Nursultan, the capital of Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan changed the name of its capital city last year - but it wasn't the first time.

It's 5:30am and I'm thinking about how I'm still not over the fact that they changed the name of Astana (such a nice name) to Nur-Sultan. I'm so not used to it. (I just saw the new city name used in writing and got confused for a moment until I remembered.)
I think it'll always be Astana for me. Tbh now I understand how some people get used to certain things in their lives and have a hard time accepting change.
I don't even live there.
