It’s been a while since we’ve heard from @shinyzango‘s Hans and Clara on their adventures, but they’re far from over. And what better of a way to kick off our annual nutcracker celebration than to check in on them? Featuring the voice talents of @ahjones94, myself, and @lexi-the-writing-geek, here’s Meeting Scout ! Lexi wrote this lovely script for us, and while it took a while to get it all put together, I’m really glad we did. I hope you enjoy it just as much as we did performing it!
I can’t believe it. I’ve graduated from art school!! now I have my BFA in Comic Art! so here’s a little something from my senior project. I’ll post more stuff from it later!
Yep, it’s happening folks. I finally got my rear up and going to start scripting my first draft of my nutcracker adaptation!
(Well technically it's gonna be a "oneshot" comic. 60 page limit.)
Here’s a sneak peak of pretty much what the script looks like in the beginning. Yes, I know the script format itself isn't exactly the proper way to script a comic. But In my own sake, this'll help me organize the dialogue and such. (Also it's a first draft, so I'll have a lot of time revamping it)
If you want to catch up with more updates and extra posts about my nutcracker content, go follow my side blog @toony-nutcase !!
As for the deadline, foremost my goal is to have a finished draft of my script before 2020 ends. Maybe have a few pages started till then!
I was having so much fun with asks over the weekend, and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, the idea to have an illustration of Auran hit me like a cannonball. It was this vivid image of him encased in this icy prison, just floating there in the cold. I don’t know what possessed me to draw it, but I spent two days throwing it together, and it felt so good! I haven’t had that much fun on a piece in a long time. I don’t know what the story is that would lead to this scenario, but I certainly would love to find out.
(I used a premade brush for the ice crystals, that’s actually part of what inspired me to do this. I’ve included a link here for you in case you’ve got Clip Studio Paint and want to play with it yourself! It’s fun to mess around with.)
@shinyzango how about a modern/domestic AU? still learning how to draw Hans I’m sorry
also a clarification before anyone tries to label me as Problematic: in my adaptation, there is no romance between Clara and the Nutcracker. she’s a child, he’s an adult, and their relationship is entirely platonic.
also also, if any of you nerds are interested in buying my adaptation, message me! the PDF is still available for $20
Nicholas definitely lives up to his reputation as Prince of the Winter Kingdom. he’s very regal, very loyal, and fiercely protective of the ones he loves. great with a sword. dramatic cape for days. he’s real tired, yo.
and Hans? I don’t know a lot about him, but as far as I can tell, he is a gentle giant and a Good Boy. I love him??
ALSO! on December 15, my 64-page adaptation of the Nutcracker will be released to the world! if yall are interested in the PDF, available to purchase for $20, hit me up! read it just in time for the holidays!
