As a disabled photographer I am always frustrated by my physical limitations when it comes to getting the perfect angle for a shot.  NVIDIAs Ansel has given me the freedom to take pictures from every available angle, from down on the floor to drone height! At the Chocobo Post there were some white butterflies near the Chocobo Races sign.  I tried to get a close-up photograph of them but when you get near they disappear.  I needed a contrasting background so I could pic out the details.  Lucky for me Noctis was standing next to the sign.  It took me a minute or two to get the angle just right but I’m so glad I did.  The detail in the butterfly is amazing considering you can’t really see it well in the game.  I will never cease to be amazed by the detail in Final Fantasy XV or the versatility of Ansel.

The Leville at Lestallum. I’ve been dying to take photographs inside the Leville hotel.  The game won’t allow you to take pictures inside the lobby but with NVIDIA’s Ansel you can go anywhere. The bedroom the boys stay in is on the second floor (third floor if you’re American).  There is no staircase to get there.  The armchairs and the table are missing but the rest of the furniture is there.  The balcony looks out over the water feature in the courtyard below.  There are other bedrooms decorated in the same style but they have no furniture.

Ebony.  Is it really all that good?  Yes, it is! Ignis lives on the small cans of black coffee.  Lucky for him Gladio has a stash in the back of the Regalia.  I managed to catch the whole sequence with Ansel, including a weird glitch. The Regalia’s cup holder is retractable.  When Ignis isn’t drinking Ebony it’s tucked away in the dashboard but if you use Ansel to see behind the dashboard sometimes you can see a can of Ebony already in the cup holder hidden from sight.  During the sequence I photographed Ignis went to place his new can of Ebony in the cup holder, but when the cup holder was pulled out the hidden can of Ebony was already there.  So now Ignis has two cans of Ebony.  Not that he’s complaining! The Exineris power plant, Lestallum.  You don’t get a very good look at this power plant in the game but it’s a pretty amazing building.  It’s no wonder Lestallum is hot, there are burning meteor shards all around the power plant, and you can almost feel the intense heat from orange glow inside. On the top of the plant there are two towers that look very much like apartment buildings.  There are windows and balconies but surely no-one would want to live there?  Just another quirk in this wonderful game. The Hammerhead Garage.  There is a hidden office in the garage.  It’s on the right hand side and it’s kitted out with a desk, storage, a fan and even a tv but you can’t enter it as a playable character.  I only found it by using NVIDIA’s Ansel so float through the wall.   All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.
