CAMP goes to New Seasons
Instrument is moving later this year to the Williams neighborhood in NE! To get familiar with the area and to get a taste of Portland, the interns and mentors toured the New Seasons Market just across the street from the new building.
We were led on a tour by Bill (top row middle), the store manager who led the opening of the Williams store. We toured the store and got educated on what makes New Seasons Market so unique to Portland and even discussed how New Seasons integrated into this flourishing neighborhood.
On the tour we learned about the importance of communication and involvement with the people of a community. When Instrument moves in across the street, we hope to replicate the community involvement and communication that New Season’s has accomplished in the N Williams neighborhood. The purpose of moving to this community isn’t to invade, but to add what the neighborhood already has.
New Seasons targeted the N Williams area for job listings and made a point for participation and contribution to community events. Taking advice from Bill and Jennifer, I can’t wait to see what Instrument brings to this community.
