Find Me
A poem written during a rough patch
"Find Me”
Saw an article of an elderly man on his death bed
As a final request he I need to see my wife he said
"I miss her"
After 66 years
After the laugher must come the tears
When it's all said and done
all anyone can ask for is the "one"
Hour glass finishing almost out of sand
In his final moments he his is girl by the hand
Looks her in the eyes
And with wordless goodbyes
He says, "Find Me"
And he must mean in the afterlife
Even in death you'll be my wife
Marriage two become one
The whole is always greater when it comes
to the total sum
With that said, "find me"
Find me when I'm lost in the abyss
Find me when I don't have the strength to persist
Find me even when we struggle to coexist
Find me when you can't see the man you met
Find me when I've made your eyes wet
Find me when I haven't found myself yet
Find me even when you feel I'm your biggest regret
Find me when it's almost over
Find me there
And bring me back
Remind me you provide everything I lack
Remind me that
Two became one
That in the darkness of the valley you are
My sun
In the coldest hardest points you will be there peaking over the horizon
Remind me how far we've come
Remind me
To find we
In our last breath, find me
