After we had visited the Lucky 13 farm last Saturday, the person who was working at the front table for Onondaga Farm Fest, suggested we drive nearby to take a look at Labrador Hollow Unique Area which was about a mile and half away. She said it's unique in that it is situated at the bottom of a valley and receives less sunlight than everywhere else in NY state. She explained that because of the less sunlight, the vegetation was unique to just that area. It was nearby so we figured to make a quick visit and see the area. We drove to the bottom of this valley and the scenery all around us was beautiful. There was a boardwalk near the parking lot, but we didn't walk that far on it, because we only wanted to make a quick visit. My oldest daughter loved the place so much that she wanted to make a return trip in the near future. She actually asked to do it for her birthday, but her birthday is in the middle of winter so we'll have to plan a trip for a different day. #ny #onondaga #cortland #tully #nysdec #cny #statepark #valley (at Labrador Hollow Unique Area)
