God who is not God - the Circle Tarot
This card references the Demiurge - the creator God of the Gaol that is the World. He is seen as the divine creator, the highest of highest, by the unenlightened and imprisoned masses. The myth of his actual nature ranges from ignorant warder to an evil overseer, jealous of the divine spark within humanity, and bent on farming us for this inner secret.
The following interpretation is taken from the commentary written by Faith Dorrins in 1976.
Pneumatic:
"You see the creator for who he is. His lies are apparent to you, and you revere him not. You rail against the great Artificer, and all his works, seeking to usurp his power over others. Continue this fight, for it is the great point of existence."
Hyletic:
"Your prayers are not being answered. Your pleas fall on deaf ears. That which you thought was a higher power is tricking you; he may have made the world, but he does not care for his creation. Be not fooled by this prince of lies, as he is the great Artificer, the master of illusion and trickery."
Psychic Rising:
"You suspect the true nature of the creator of the World. He is the prince of lies, and you begin to see through his subterfuge. He may fool others, but you are wise to his machinations. Seek out examples of his work, and identify his misguidance."
Psychic Falling:
"You are being misled by the Prince of Lies. His subterfuge, once obvious to you, has ensnared you again. It is easy to believe a lie when so many others around you believe it also. Have the courage to stand up for the truth in order to reveal his subterfuge."
