O'Deus....newcomers with a stoner styling featuring some familiar faces in the lineup forming a formidable lineup of musicians. Being a huge fan of band's like Clutch, Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age and Red Fang in more recent times, this is right up my alley and with new release Ricketts, O'Deus bless us with a real hearty slab of meat served up on a platter of sludge and filth. Greasy, heavy, dirty rock means you should probably have a wash after getting down with this tune. Solid, to the point and no bullshit which is just how music in this genre should be. With a sound that is razor sharp blues rock, but wielded riffs that are blunt force trauma inducing and ready to smash your teeth out O’Deus have a different approach to the sound being created, clever, less abrasive and more thoughtfully put together meaning it is both musical and weighty enough to make you gurn. In addition to this the video is shot in tasteful black and white with a great narrative, produced by Crashburn Media and shot in Charlie's Bar, Redruth. So what we’re left with is a quality tune by a quality band presented professionally and something very special indeed. Written by Jim Rotheram.
