Milling my first live oak slab with the router sled I made. These slabs came from two trees I harvested that my dad and I planted in 1961.

Slabbing some live oak yesterday to make our dinning table
Slabs are stacked with stickers and tie down straps to help keep the planks from warping. I put a piece of galvanized roofing on top to keep most of the rain off. I will leave them here for a year or so then bring them inside to finish drying.
Moving right along. This plank is 2 1/4 inches thick and 16 inches wide and 8 feet long (live oak).
First tree is slabbed out. I have enough here to do the table top and tops to the bench seats.
