Oakland Seals Strike Twice In 9 Seconds After Hextall Double Minor
On October 17, 1969, the Oakland Seals wasted absolutely no time capitalizing on a Los Angeles Kings mistake.
Just 42 seconds into the game, Dennis Hextall took two minor penalties, giving the Seals a four-minute power play. Bill Hicke responded by scoring at 1:27 of the first period… and then again just nine seconds later.
Same line. Same goalie. Instant damage.
The two quick strikes stood as a Seals team record, and Oakland rolled to a 5-1 win. It was Hicke’s only three-point night of the 1969-70 season, but it remains one of the fastest back-to-back goal bursts in franchise history.
