I'll be discussing my dog Oakley but just note she's a good mouser and thats what I am discussing so if you're not interested, here's a picture of the good girl and that can be the end of it. If you want to hear about her mousing, below the cut

My dog Oakley is the best mouser I've ever seen. She's so clean about it.

We have a mouse infestation and she's so good at catching the mice, killing them quickly (they don't even have time to cry out in fear) and she doesn't make a mess either.

I came to my room after taking a bath and Oakley had broken out of her kennel and killed a mouse and left it for me on my white carpet. No blood stain was left behind or anything. Just the dead mouse.

Honestly as much as I'd love to be able to just catch the mice and release them in the fields miles away from my house, the infestation is just too big for that to be plausible. But I don't like to use snap traps and I refuse to use glue traps. So having Oakley help with the problem and do it so cleanly, both in making a quick kill so the mouse isn't suffering and in not leaving entrails all over my carpet honestly really helps.

Also she never tries to go after my guinea pigs. She knows the difference between the wanted rodents and the unwanted rodents.

First night with Copper and Oakley sleeping in the same room. Tonight we're doing kennels all night and then as the days go on we'll see if they can share a bed. Copper gets a little jealous so we'll see. But they're best buds so I'm hoping once Copper adjusts more it'll be easier.
