He isn't worried about much else... or at least he wasn't until Wade washed up on the beach near his family's home.
Now between caring for his animals and teaching Wade about the sim world, he's been quite busy!
His traits are animal lover and child of the islands, and his apspiration is to be a friend of the animals.
Behind the scenes, Mano is a slightly made over version of an accidental baby born to none other than Makoa and Mitchell. Who would have ever expected that? I was doing a photoshoot for a mini story when they decided to do their own thing and shocked me with Mano. I think he's adorable. I changed enough of his features that I consider him to be his own now, so in the story he has a different family. Would be funny to just drop him in with one of his technical fathers sometime though.
Mano is still adjusting to having a group of human friends. He's still most comfortable with his chickens.
hi friend, i hope you are well! i’ve been slowly catching up on your postcard legacy and you’ve done such a beautiful job with it. every post is gorgeous and i love renee’s story so far!
KAYLAAAAAA!!! I've missed you ❤️ Not so bad (though the semester is already kicking my ass) I know you are super busy, so I hope you are doing well too 😊 And thank you so much! I'm glad you are enjoying it ❤️ Unfortunately postcard legacy is on a small break right now, but Renee will be back before you know it!!!
You may be wondering about Wade's backstory but unfortunately they can't tell you much. He can't remember anything from before washing up on the beach with a bump on their head and a very sore tail.
Now Wade is learning about the sim world around him and he's having a great time!
Wade has been exploring so many things but one that they find most interesting is how diverse sims are. After spending time with fellow merperson Marley, Wade has been experimenting with their pronouns and is feeling pretty good using both they/them and he/him.
Behind the scenes it's hard to have a sim with multiple pronouns because the game just can't handle that, so in game Wade is referred to exclusively with they/them pronouns.
You might also recognize Wade from my blog before. He was a previous townie makeover who became a favorite of mine and got his own save when I explored the island conservation job and playing as a mersim.
As the daughter of the self-appointed "Sulani ambassadors", Momi feels some pressure to keep up appearances. Her traits are child of the islands and loyal. Her aspiration is goal oriented, and that's reflected in how helpful and determined she is in her daily life.
Momi is class president at the local highschool and outside of class she also helps teach her kumu hula teach classes to the younger kids.
She does have one secret she isn't ready to tell her parents about yet, but she has confided in some of her friends. Momi is a lesbian.
Making Momi I decided to break one of my silly rules to myself from years of interacting in fandom, which is don't make an OC that's related to existing characters. I knowwwwwwww, It's a silly rule. It's just hanging around in my brain from my RP days back in the like 2010 Tumblr era. I love her though and I have zero regrets.
Momi and Marigold are besties. Opal and Owen used to be part of the group but have had their own things going on more and more and have been a bit distant.
Featuring Owen, Opal, Marigold, Elio, Mano, Wade, and Marley!
I may have gone a little overboard.
I'm now staring at them trying to see if I have a "sim style" or same face syndrome.
4 of them are previous townie makeovers, and the other 4 were made by mixing genetics of some sims I thought would make cute babies or would fit in on the island.
Marley love Sulani as if it were always her home, though it hasnt always been. Her parents moved to the island when she was a child after it was discovered that a long forgotten dormant mer-gene awoke within her. After a lot of research on her part she discovered that many generations ago her ancestors were a couple that were born into competing pods who renounced their mer-powers to be together on land undisturbed by family traumas.
Marley was also dealt a double whammy of self discovery after realizing that she's trans while also discovering this new mer side of herself. Now she's being mentored by Lia and Paka'a.
She's also been doing some mentoring of her own after hearing about Wade's predicament from Mano.
Marley's traits are child of the ocean, and self assured. Her dream is to be a freelance botanist. She grows her own garden to supplement her diet as she's a vegetarian.
Behind the scenes, Marley is a townie makeover I did wayyyyyy back when I first got Batuu. She's a little different as I used the twins genetic shuffler thing to make her so as not to have any of the Batuu hidden traits jump into anyone else's game when sharing her. Originally she was named Yasha. Marley was the name that shuffled for her and honestly I love it.
Also I use the vegetarian overhaul mod for her diet without taking up a slot in her traits.
Marley has always had friends and acquaintances but the new friend group she's become much closer with than expected into has been quite nice, actually. She's happy.
Owen is the twin brother of Opal. After listening to stories from his fathers about the world outside of Sulani, he longs to explore the world and experience all sorts of extreme sports. To help with that goal, his aspiration is to become a bodybuilder. His current traits are adventurous and loves the outdoors. Who's to say who he will become down the line?
Behind the scenes, Owen is a trans man and was a happy accident, being born while I was working on a CC project and using Brent Hong and Antony Morales to model some things.
Owen, Opal, Mari, and Momi used to be THE squad but things have changed in recent years and Owen tends to hang around with Mano and by extension Wade and Marley now.
