☕ tofu and other veg proteins
i think the claim that veg proteins are 'gross' is largely not motivated by them not being cooked correctly, but instead an automatic disgust reaction to foods associated with 'foreign' and 'feminized' cultures + with broader philosophical challenges toward meat-centered eating
i say this bc unlike poorly cooked vegetables (which we've all had to deal w from time to time) i'd wager most of the harshest critics of vegan proteins have never actually tasted tofu, tempeh, or seitan in their lives. the disgust isn't at the taste, but the concept and its perceived impingement on their ideologies
