another one of these. but i feel like i need to justify myself this time bc on the surface this chart is a little ehhh.
lawful good -- struggled w this one. it was between sakura and terano but neither of them rly fit the bill because all they are are opposition to The Big Bad (kirari and aoi); neither of them really have any good, strong principles themselves. in the end i settled for sakura literally only because terano threatens to kill her allies if they stepped out of line (valid and love her for that) whereas sakura is very much A Good Sport (ew)
neutral good -- honestly the top row was the hardest for me to pick because there are almost no good characters in kakegurui. was thinking of putting rei in as well but unsure as to what quadrant she'd belong to. now okay if im being honest the real reason i put souko here was bc of vibes. i genuinely forgot everything about her character sorry but from what i remember she was a good (ish?) person. so.
chaotic good -- ibara's unwavering trust in rin + compulsive honesty make him a prime candidate for 'good'. his character, and, well, his attachment to rin fits the bill for 'chaotic'.
lawful neutral -- NOW i know the general consensus is that kirari is le villain, the shark of the aquarium if you will. however. im usually not one to put much weight behind intention as i am behind action but the thing with kirari is... she really just lets things run their course. she dgaf. and she specifically prevents sayaka from interfering with yumeko's defeats of the student council. she's perfectly fine with stepping down if it suits her. she's something of a fatalist, rly.
true neutral -- yomozuki 'absolute neutrality' runa. idk what else there is to say about this. most glaringly obvious person for the job.
chaotic neutral -- the yin to kirari's yang, if you will. yumeko is the course that kirari is letting run. she is the disruption of hyakkaou's order that the council has worked to cultivate. when she gambles with people she dooms and frees them both. and the thing being; she doesn't care about the outcome, only that she wants the game itself to be neck-breakingly risky as it can be. hence, 'chaotic'.
lawful evil -- again, STRUGGLE. i considered putting ouri down as well but then realised she didn't rly fit the bill considering her only crime was like, being a straight communist. s1 kaede works well enough tho. he manipulates the social framework of hyakkaou to fit his desires; acquires and discards itsuki like she is nothing, stabs yumemi in the back for less than no reason, uses them and midari as 'stepping stones' to beating yumeko (at which he fails. lol). kaede, however, is one of the few characters who doesn't cheat. nor does he rig his game (like yumemi), though the advantage is initially skewed towards him. he plays the system according to its rules, and to his ultimate advantage.
neutral evil -- sachiko doesn't play sides. whether it be kirari or aoi who win their conflict, whether it be mary or sakura who break their chains; it's nothing to her. what sachiko does, however, is take pleasure in the loser's wounds. what sachiko does is mock and tease and bruise and collar, even if she doesn't play sides.
chaotic evil -- miyo has undoubtedly strange methods of playing. she hates the premise of gambling itself, and though she acts ordered, her intention is not to play or beat the game, but to break it through... unconventional methods. this method is incapacitation of the opposition, and is not something that can be dubbed anything less than evil.
