      WAS   SHE   TO   BE   A   CONFIDANT   OR   HIS   DOWNFALL ?          he   isn’t   entirely   sure     ---     hollow   hazel   examines   the   young   woman   with   wariness   and   care ,     mask   tilted   slightly ,     arms   crossed   and   back   leaning   on   a   nearby   wall ,     mind   thinking   of   the   situation   over   and   over .          she’s   too   smart   for   her   own   good ;          if   he   tells   her   his   plan ,     she   might   not   care ,     or   she   would   use   it   against   him ,     hold   it   over   his   head   until   she   sees   fit .          unless   she   wanted   to   get   her   hands   on   some   of   overwatch’s   files ...

      but   what   use   is   he   when   she   can   break   into   the   most   secure   system   on   the   planet ?          his   old   credentials   would   easily   be   obtained ,     she   could   easily   find   some   of   the   information   he   knows .          but ...          perhaps   she   wouldn’t   know   where   to   look ?

      this   is   so   theoretical ,     the   calculating   mind   of   gabriel   finds   the   risk   too   high   to   even   attempt .          but   he   is   parading   himself   as   reaper     ---     if   he   has   an   edge ,     he   should   use   it ,     damned   the   consequences ,     no   second   thought   given   because   it’s   a   means   to   an   end .          and   if   he   has   somebody   on   his   side ,     even   briefly ,     then   perhaps ...

          INDETERMINATE   TIME ,     UNKNOWN .          the   outlaw   would   not   admit   to   losing   his   location   on   his   map ,     turquoise   squinting   to   the   paper   in   an   attempt   to   match   a   landmark   with   a   note   on   the   map .          though ,     he   does   note   his   numerous   sketches   across   the   map ;          hunting   notes   meant   to   tell   him   specific   locations   of   animals   and   useful   flowers   and   herbs .          and   a   looming   circle   that   tells   him   where   he   is     ------     an   open   area     ------     was   an   ideal   spot   for   camping .          what   was   he   thinking ?

          he   does   not   like   camping   in   the   middle   of   open   area ;     too   many   disadvantages ,     too   many   opportunities .          but   he   keeps   his   cattleman   in   his   holster ,     hand   always   prepared ,      waiting   for   something   to   happen .          which   he   predicts   correct   as   he   hears   what   could   be   a   twig   snap   under   a   foot ,     making   him   draw   his   gun   and   point   in   that   direction .          if   he   had   a   better   location   choice   for   camping   the   night ...          “          someone   there ?          ”
