In fairness, a large Shahed drone can cost over $30,000 to produce. Though that is still far cheaper than the technology used to defend against one. A much cheaper drone, hitting its target in just the right spot, can still cause severe damage.

It's not necessary for Iran to "obliterate" anybody. All they need to do is to discourage traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and wait for oil prices to climb even higher. Patience trumps bombast.

A few people in the Trump administration actually understand the situation. They are considering (HORROR OF HORRORS!!!1!!11!) the Obama deal with Iran which Trump had previously torn up.
