00q fic recs: outsider pov pt 2

“Oberhauser is still alive,” Q explained, tapping at the keys. “The ring proves it. And it seems they were all part of one organization. Le Chiffre, Quantum, Sciarra, and your friend Mr. Silva.”

Bond’s mouth quirked. “My friend?”

“He certainly isn’t mine,” Q replied. “There was trace DNA from all of them on the ring. And do you know who links them all?” He looked up before Bond could reply and met the other man’s gaze over his shoulder, mouth curling just a little as he prodded, “Go on, give us a guess.”

“Him,” Bond rumbled ominously, voice low and black. Near to Q as he was it would only take a shift of weight from one foot to the other to bring their mouths together.

Madeleine felt herself flush faintly at the realization, but didn’t look away. How very interesting.

1. A Mountain That Has Been Moved by bankrobbery, melfice

There is something strangely threatening about the realization that he finds James Bond attractive.

i adore the way q’s voice is written in this fic –– its grumpy resignation is so on point. also i nearly screamed when i read the second last scene. moneypenny coming through with her observations? yes.

2. Digging out the bullet by orphan_account

“You know, you’re not a very fun travel partner,” Q says. Really, how rude. “Most people would beg to differ,” Bond says. He’s sure Q will be able to figure out what he’s alluding to, but apparently it needs to be said out loud, because Q smirks, before he speaks again. “Oh. And what do you do with these people?” “I shag them,” Bond says. He’s not usually one to beat around the bush, when the question is this direct. Q, as expected, smiles like he already knew this would be the answer. “Well,” he says. “I don’t put out until the third date.”

Bond and Q are on a mission, and sleep together. Things go on from there. Well... when Bond says sleeping together, it's not exactly what he usually means. It seems, to get there, they take the long way round.

Or: Bond is a bit messed up. Q is a bit in love with him. This may or may not be a good cocktail

it’s a bond pov but i adore the way q pines in this fic. it’s characterised so well ––– he’s simultaneously playing defence for his heart, while at the same time he’s also kind of on the offence to break open the cage around bond’s.

Bond hit the icy water of the river below the bridge hard enough to forget the bullet lodged in his flesh, spilling blood. The cold of the water alone sucked all air from his lungs, any semblance of armor shattering the moment the projectile touched the earth.

Then there’s Q, replicating the same onset of shock with his eyes alone.

ok i will admit that there is no mutual pining in this or get together, but it is such a lovely and well written piece. i adore the comparisons between bond getting shot in istanbul and him making the connection that q has feelings for him.

00q fic recs: miscommunication

1. Kitty Kitty Bang Bang by soufflegirl91 (@soufflegirl91)

Bond’s done. The last mission was a wake-up call, he’s not up to par anymore. Moneypenny could have died. After weeks of moping, help comes from an unexpected quarter -- his balcony. The old ginger tom’s got a limp, torn-up ears and a scar above his left eye. He also likes tuna and is a very good listener.

i adore this fic from the way it starts to the way it ends. the premise is so well done and it totally left me on tenterhooks and i especially adore the ending.

this fic is exactly 100 words and it is so well done!!! bond pouring his heart out but q not figuring out that it’s him is such a good trope.
