Before I became The Queen, I was The Princess Of Cordonia…
You could say that I had it all. There's my besties, Alyssa, Nina, Desha, and Chutney. My parents Shantel and Damien. And especially MY man. You could even say that I'm spoiled rotten and well, you'd be right.
Life was easy and yes, it was privileged growing up in New York. But that all changed when I went off to college. College was fun. My classes challenged me more than I could have thought they would but I welcomed it. I needed the challenge. I needed the chance to prove that I could do something on my own, and going to school in Boston gave me that chance.
And okay sure, my dad sent guards with me. Something about needing the security but they've stayed out of my way. And because of my fathers’ job at the U.N. and his vast connections, I got to live off-campus for 4 years and after graduation, I decided to make a life for myself here in Boston.
To me life was literally perfect.
But you know what they say about having the perfect life?
Now, I've gone by many a name. Shan, Nelle, baby or if you’re my daddy: Princess. Because as I found out the day after my 18th birthday, I am an actual Princess. I just thought my dad called me Princess because he loves me. Apparently, I was wrong. I’m a part of the Royal Line in Cordonia.
But the name I love to be called the most is: Beautiful. And that’s the name Cassian always called me.
We have been together since we were kids. And when we graduated high school Cass promised me that we'd always stay in touch. Whether it was via phone calls, text messages, Skype, Facebook Messenger, whatever the means we were determined to make it work. As I went to school at Boston University, he got a full ride to the University Of Pennsylvania.
Being apart from each other was hard, but we made it work.
So, what went wrong?
