Ninth pull for the OC Reference Project: Joey "Toothless" Black, a SECOND Fallout OC!
Joey is an ex-raider from some awful little gang in DC; When he saw his niece, Kate, who was just an infant at the time, being forgotten and neglected, he decided it was time for a new life. He took her and set off into the wastes to start a 'decent life' doing whatever it was he could to give her something stable and less dangerous than raiding.
She was the light of his life. When she joined the Brotherhood of Steel, he was the proudest he'd ever been of anyone, himself included - so, when he got the news that she had died, he was broken to pieces.
The next few years are sort of a blur, but Joey just fluttered from place to place, swept back into raiding, and doing anything without a second thought. He just didn't seem to care anymore, waiting for someone to take him out.
Imagine his surprise when, in a new state, under a new name, in a new life, he sees his baby girl walk through his gang's territory to clear them all out.

Please know that I did NOT stop the OC Reference Project, I just FORGOT TO POST ROSIE! Until I'm done with the October challenge I'll probably not start other refs, but project should resume after.
Rosie Red grew up in the Capital Wasteland, like almost everyone in DC, though she knew from a relatively young age that she was a bit different. Obsessed with being as quiet as she could, sneaking by without notice, talking her things out of things, borrowing certain items, Rosie set herself up young to fall into a less than reputable line of work, though she had no idea just how useful it'd become.
Growing up in Little Lamplight, Rosie lived a relatively stable life, up until she was kicked out, like all mungos are. The journey to Big Town wasn't kind to her, and by the end of it, Rosie was much more embittered by the world, keeping mostly to herself and slowly getting accustomed to the harshness of the world. It was over a year, before she got it, and the feeling wasn't as relieving as she had hoped - but she felt like she'd done the right thing, and so, she continued. On and on, more and more, Rosie honed the trade of killing quietly, quickly, and leaving no trace of herself behind. Still, all good stories come to an end, and it was as Rosie had her final job, to infiltrate Paradise Falls - and kill a slave.
A fan of caps, and sympathetic, she went forth with the best intent in mind, but by the time she reached Paradise Falls, she had a different view of things. The slavers were animals. She did the job as she was ordered, but it was as she was leaving that she saw Clover. Something about her drew her in, and Rosie couldn't help herself, she approached her, spoke to her, and realized the heinous situation at hand. So, she did what she had to. Neither woman will explain exactly how Rosie got her hands on Clover's contract, just that it happened.
It was slow, but she helped Clover, ushering her far away from Paradise Falls, helping her regain some sense of her personhood. Rosie decided she was retired - but she was beginning a new career, one with the end result of destroying Paradise Falls, and the chattel slavery in the Capital Wasteland, for good. Nowadays, Rosie can be found at the Lincoln Memorial, with the rest of the Union, trailed closely by her freed lover, and a boy she hired to watch her back. She's more than happy to talk, if prompted, but everyone knows that they should be careful if they consider it - one wrong word, and you have a viper and a yao guai after you.

Tenth OC Reference Project pull, and strangely enough, a second of the five characters from How To Catch a Monster! Not only that, but Madame herself!!!
While He is censored by the narrative, Madame was forcibly emphasized by it. In the nightmare, every time he was on screen, I got this horrible fear that he'd look at me - when she was on screen, it felt like I was terrified of looking away.
Since drawing Him, I've been able to world build HtCaM a little more, and come up with the fact that these two are... things. It's unclear what, but the truth of the matter is taht they've been here for longer than you would understand, and that's led to some very strange games between the two of them.
Sometimes those games involve setting up the systematic destruction of several children's lives, adopting them, and raising them to be the perfect monster researchers to try and track him down and see how far they can get to doing real damage to him while he gets his kicks in terrorizing them. Like, a big pseudosexual mind game with two cognitohazards.
Very normal things.

Fourteenth OC Reference Project pull was Syanth, but I had him in a line up with the other old dragon OCs, so I just decided to finish the line up!
These guys are very, very old characters that I remade to shove in Pure Avarice, my world for dragons. How old, you ask? This was my art when I made them!
All dragons in Pure Avarice are dragons and look like it 90% of the time, I just don't want to draw all that... So they get humanoid forms for art through magic.
Right now, they're not completely relevant to the story, all I have for them is this:
Zhēnzhūlóng / Zhēnzhū, The Pearl of the Sea
A young water serpent, a species also known as hailing from Kara-Tur; She has a long serpentine body without wings, meant to glide through water effortlessly, which stretches over a hundred feet in length. Her body shimmers in hues of aquamarine, seafoam green, and light blue. Her scales are small, iridescent, and pearl-like, reflecting light in soft, opalescent waves, giving her an ethereal glow as she moves through her watery domain.
Zhenzhu's head is adorned with elegant, coral-like horns are dark blue with a pearlescent sheen, which arch gracefully backward, tapering off into fine points. Her eyes are a deep, tranquil blue with translucent eyelids, and whisker-like tendrils that flow from her cheeks and extend several feet behind her head.
Along her spine, a flowing, translucent fin runs from the base of her skull to the tip of her tail, resembling the billowing movement of seaweed. This fin glows faintly in the dark, a soft luminescence. Her claws are sharp but elegant, resembling polished ivory, and her long, winding tail ends in a beautiful fan-like appendage that spreads out in a wide arc, aiding her movement through the water with minimal effort.
Zhenzhu is crowned with a large, glowing pearl embedded in her forehead, a radiant symbol of her title as the Pearl of the Sea. This pearl is said to possess immense magical power, allowing her to control the tides and communicate with the creatures of the deep. Surrounding the pearl, her scales take on a pure white hue, giving the impression of a halo radiating from the gem.
Her demeanor is calm, wise, and regal; She is known to give advice and knowledge to those who seek her, though she prefers to speak to other dragons, and not humans.
In a polymorphed form, Zhēnzhū takes on the appearance of a lady from Kara-Tur, with a slender, muscular body and olive-tan skin. She keeps her whiskers, and long, sleek form, as well as her shimmering scales in patches along her body; Her horns are much smaller in this form, and her tail is far less expansive. Her feet and hands are webbed, and her eyes are dark enough in this form to look more black than blue.
Gianavi, The Insane, Future-Keeper
A young chrysoprase gem dragon hailing from the Southern Lands, and beheld as a seer; They have a small and wiry body, elongated and sinewy, with a constant jittery energy, as though they are perpetually in motion, even when standing still.Their crystalline chrysoprase scales shimmer in unpredictable hues of vivid green and pale yellow, set against a stark black base. The black underlay of their scales makes the bright chrysoprase seem more vivid, creating a fractured, almost chaotic pattern of glowing green and yellow patches.
Gianavi’s head is sharply angular, with jagged, crystal-like horns sprouting from their skull and curving downwards. Their eyes are a piercing, unblinking yellow, devoid of pupils, giving them an eerie, otherworldly appearance. Around their eyes, small cracks in the scales reveal deeper layers of blackened crystal, their visions too much for even their body to contain. These cracks faintly glimmer with energy when they speak of their cryptic seer-like prophecies.
The dragon's mouth is lined with teeth that seem more like shards of broken glass than fangs. These teeth catch the light in unsettling ways, giving Gianavi’s smile a sharp, dangerous edge. Their tongue is long, forked, and constantly twitching.
Along their body, clusters of jagged crystal spines jut out erratically from their shoulders, spine, and tail. Their wings have a cracked and brittle appearance, with translucent membranes stretched between crystalline spines that twitch involuntarily.
Gianavi’s long, whip-like tail is constantly swaying and flicking, covered in crystalline shards that reflect light in unpredictable patterns. The tail ends in a sharp, spear-like crystal blade, dangerous in its precision but erratic in its movement.
Their constant, twitchy movements are accompanied by low, muttering rambles that echo through the air, their voice high-pitched and occasionally breaking into unsettling laughter. Despite their unnerving behavior, Gianavi is known for their politeness, and is a beloved friend for the few that take the time to know them.
In a polymorphed form, Gianavi has extremely pale skin, the only color on their form being the large chunks of yellow and green scales across their body. They are constantly twitching in this form, too, and seem to have trouble maintaining their polymorph, as their body may be frequent to change, with spines, spikes, and scales changing shape or location. Gianavi’s wings and tail are smaller, and held close to their body, sometimes wrapped around them. Their scales and spikes are much more brittle in this form.
Fyril, Lord of the Sky
A young white dragon, hailing from the Western lands, and lacking a proper land to rule; He has a smaller frame, that is incredibly lightweight and much smaller than a standard dragon, giving him a more bird-like appearance, similar to a gryphon. He is covered in a thick coat of soft, snow-white fur, which is tinted blue along his back and limbs. This blue tint grows more prominent around his neck, legs, and wings, reflecting the sky’s colors as he flies. Clusters of thick, blue scales appear along his long snout, throat, belly, and limbs.
Fyril's face is gentle and expressive, with bright, sky-blue eyes. His snout is long and elegant, and he distinctly lacks horns, instead having two long, furred ears.
His feathered wings are one of his most distinctive features. They are expansive, spanning nearly double his body length, and are covered in pure white feathers that have an iridescent sheen, shifting between white and blue depending on the angle of the light. The feathers at the edges of his wings are long and elegant, allowing for swift and precise movements, giving Fyril an unmatched agility in flight. His wings are built for speed, and the hollow bones in his body make him incredibly lightweight, allowing him to glide effortlessly through even the thinnest of mountain air.
His tail, long and feathered, trails behind him in flight like a banner of snow. The feathers end with a large, vibrant fan of tail feathers.
Despite his smaller size compared to other dragons, Fyril has a commanding presence, not through intimidation but through his natural charm. His enthusiasm is contagious, and his playful, kind-hearted nature makes him easy to get along with. His voice is light and melodic.
When polymorphed, Fyril takes the form of a human from the mountain regions he hails from. His skin is an olive-brown, and his hair is a mix of blue and white. He keeps many of his feathers and furs in this form, and gains slightly more scales; His hands and feet are padded like paws, and have colored claws, as well. His feathered wings are still large enough to carry him in this form, and his body is especially light and slender, making him even more fragile in a polymorphed form. His tail shortens to be just a tail fan, when polymorphed.
Syanth, The Protector
A young earth dragon, hailing from the Eastern Lands, and devoted to Ethinti, the Tyrant; His large, heavyset body is covered in rugged, earth-colored scales that shimmer like polished bronze, ranging from deep browns to golden-copper tones, with thick clusters of green, like moss growing across his body, particularly along his limbs and spine. These scales are thick and ridged, almost resembling layers of sedimentary rock. He also has thick, dark brown stripes, similar to that of polished tiger’s eye.
Syanth’s head is broad and strong, with a gentle, rounded snout and deep-set, emerald-green eyes. His horns, thick and curved, extend backward in a protective arc, covered in a verdant patina. Small patches of lichen and moss have begun to grow on the base of his horns and along the crevices of his scales.
Running down Syanth’s back, down his shoulders and thighs, are rows of sturdy, emerald-green spikes that taper into sharp points. These spikes, more protective than offensive, are reminiscent of the jagged rocks found in deep caverns. His legs, massive and muscular, are built for digging and burrowing, with large, clawed feet that can crush stone and earth with ease.
Syanth’s wings, while large and powerful, have a more functional design in shielding him from debris, and helping him to push aside dirt and rock when digging. The membrane between the bronze-green wing bones is leathery and earthy, with veins of green running through it. Though capable of flight, Syanth is reaching an age and size where most earth dragons lose the ability due to their weight.
His long, sweeping tail is covered in thick, segmented plates, each one rimmed with green, and it ends in a club-like formation of spikes that resemble a great stone hammer. This tail is both a defensive weapon and a tool, perfect for clearing debris or defending the sanctuaries he creates.
Despite his massive size and imposing appearance, Syanth’s movements are deliberate and gentle, especially in the presence of Ethinti, the dragon he has chosen to protect. His devotion to her is clear in every glance and gesture. Ethinti is the center of Syanth’s world, and he tends to her with a quiet, almost reverential care.
Though fierce and protective, Syanth’s true strength lies in his unwavering loyalty and the deep bond he shares with Ethinti. His voice, when he speaks, is deep but soft. He is gentle, thoughtful, and kind, with a natural wisdom.
In his underground habitats, Syanth creates vast, sprawling caverns, intricately carved and reinforced by his own strength. These spaces are filled with lush greenery, stone formations, and hidden tunnels, a sanctuary for both himself and Ethinti, where he can protect her from any threat with fierce, unrelenting devotion.
When polymorphed, Syanth takes the form of a large, somewhat intimidating man from the Eastern lands. His skin is a warm brown, and his features are just as rounded as his true form, with his frame being just as large and bulky as well. His wings are smaller than in his true form, and he chooses to compensate with more protective spikes and plating. His tail remains the same, often dragging on the ground, but it swings with as much force and precision as ever. His arms and hands are longer and flatter than the average human, and his claws are long, allowing him to still dig in this form.
Ethinti, The Tyrant, Lady of Roses, Keeper of Men
A young royal dragon, hailing from the Northern Lands, and the keeper of Synath; Her large and imposing form is covered in gleaming black scales that seem to absorb the light around her. These scales, smooth and lustrous, are interrupted by vivid fuchsia stripes, reminiscent of tiger markings, that streak across her body.
Her three sets of horns are one of her most striking features - each a delicate white at the base, fading into soft, light pink as they extend outward, the first set curving upward, the second extending back, and the last curving down, creating a somewhat crown-like appearance.
Ethinti’s head is regal, her features sharp and well-defined, with feather-like eyelashes that are a vibrant, almost shocking pink, fluttering gracefully with every blink. These are used very deliberately to exaggerate her dramatic expressions, especially during her famous tantrums. Her fuchsia-colored eyes glow with a fierce, commanding light, and her gaze is always intense, often filled with self-assured arrogance. When she looks at those around her - be it humans or other dragons - it’s with the expectation of admiration, obedience, or even reverence.
Her body is adorned with additional fuchsia accents along her tail, legs, and the crest of layers of sharp spikes running down her spine. Her wings, massive and built for strength, are edged with a faint pinkish hue, their leathery membranes a bright, dark pink. These wings, while heavy, allow her to soar with incredible force, but she often remains grounded, preferring to keep her courtly affairs where she can be more intimately admired.
Her long tail is as expressive as her eyes, often flicking with impatience or curling protectively around her when she wishes to assert her dominance.
Despite her beauty and regal bearing, Ethinti’s personality is notoriously self-absorbed and prone to outbursts. She demands attention and authority, and any slight - real or perceived - can set off one of her infamous tantrums. However, her behavior has been tempered over time, thanks in large part to the calming influence of Syanth, and her position on the so-called ‘council of dragons’. While her arrogance and demands remain, she has grown more sophisticated in asserting her will, relying less on brute displays of dominance and more on the subtleties of courtly intrigue and manipulation.
Many royal dragons enjoy meddling in the affairs of humans, but Ethinti takes this to another level. She often polymorphs into a striking human form, inserting herself into the courts of men, where she manipulates and enjoys their attention, treating them as pawns in her games of power.
Though her behavior can be challenging, there is an undeniable charisma to her. She draws people into her orbit, where they either fall under her spell or tremble before her wrath. Her royal bloodline marks her as a being of great importance, and despite her flaws, she carries her titles with the weight of centuries of tradition, demanding to be recognized as the true ruler of any domain she chooses to inhabit.
In a polymorphed form, Ethinti takes great care to make herself look as regal and desirable as she does in her true form. She looks like a fine lady from the Northern lands, with dark brown skin and long, deep fuchsia hair. Her body is large and bulky, though with exceptional curves. She keeps her horns, preferring the crown-like appearance of them to an actual crown, and has subtle stripes on her skin. Her wings and tail are just as large in proportion to her body as in her true form. She prefers to dress in finery, to give the appearance of a lady or nobility, so she can better blend in to courts without needing to do to much ‘shopping around’ first.

That's right... two (2) Oc Reference Project posts in the same 24 hour span! Twelfth pull was Jonas, the resident engineer in the Guardians unit in my sci-fi fantasy world, Ouroboros :^)
As a young boy, Jonas was enamored with space, and proclaimed his want, and intent, to be a spacer as soon as he was able to. His parents demanded he go to college, first, and soon, Jonas was rushing his way through college courses to become an astroengineer - Of course, once he graduated, having focused most of his life on school and getting to space, he found that without connections, he wasn't guaranteed a spot with any company, and without the money, he couldn't get his own ship.
Jonas enlisted with the Citadel, then, knowing that they almost always needed engineers of some sort, and soon, he was placed with the CCF, maintaining and repairing ships in the loading bay. Eventually, he was sent out with a unit to assist them in repairwork in the field, and quickly learned admiration for the units and their duties.
It was then that Jonas put in a request to be placed on a unit as a full-time engineer, taking courses on general technical information to receive certification; Once this was done, Kh-aed agreed to place him on a unit, and, in fact, placed him with the Guardians. Here, he made quick friends with Ana Jiménez, as a fellow human, and got along fine enough with Icka and Rea. Later, he realized he was likely placed here to keep an eye on anything Mei Amari might do, as she arrived not too long after him.

I told you the OC Reference Project wasn't cancelled! For the eighth pull, I got Lua, everyone's favorite middle aged elf!
Once a Tyme elf - a traveling people - Lua grew up seeing the world and fell in love with it; He made friends across the globe, but his closest friend was a woman named Dandelion. He was set to live his life content and free, starting a family with a man he'd shared a long relationship with, and eventually having a daughter. Life was good.
And then Encevine started picking off the Tyme people. Lua's family were just a handful of many casualties. Lost and grieving, he thought only to return to his ancestor's homeland, Phica, and there he became a devoted follower of Rheros, God of the Sun. Serving as both a priest, an informant thanks to his many travels, and general ability to get information from people, Lua served Phica as best he could to protect the country from Encevine for as long as possible; In this time he often worked with Dandelion, who had become an agent for Alolbia, another nation in the Elven Isles.
He was a witness for Dandelion's wedding to Ash Onai, the Prophet for Rheros, and a damn good spy, overseeing Dandelion's final mission. This last trip would ensure the downfall of the blight that was Encevine, all she had to do was return with the information.
Dandelion never came back. Lua lost hope all over again, and when the Isles agreed to separate themselves from the rest of the world for their safety, he gave up work for Phica in favor of work for Rheros, becoming a priest.
It was ten years before word finally reached them, that she had birthed a child (Pebble Alexander) in Encevine, and then died. Lua redirected his attention, then, from his holy duty, to rescuing Dandelion's child. It was a sordid affair, but soon enough, a young Pebble Alexander-Onai was rescued from Encevine, and given to the care of his last remaining parent, Ash Onai.
Once again, Lua returned to servitude in the temple, watching Pebble grow up, and acting as a link between the boy's memories of his mother and her hidden self. Lua was content to live life like that... up until the day Pebble left for Fyre, and Lua followed, only to watch the boy start - for lack of a better word - a revolution. The Free March was founded, and it needed as many bodies as it could to have any hope of knocking Encevine off it's pedestal, and Lua had enough experience in getting information that he thought himself valuable...
And now he's a spymaster. What joy. Pebble still won't approve Lua's garden renovations (they need nightshade), he's found two moles in the last month, and he just chipped a nail. Life is hell. Also, Misha's too busy to go on a date this week! They might as well give this whole thing up!

I finally got my first pony for the OC Reference Project!!! Thirteenth pull was Bandages, a side character for the main arc where Smoky Waltz does evil horse activities.
Bandages is a pretty straight-forward gal - she's a nurse, with her talent being in impeccable bedside manner and calmness under pressure during medical care, and as an Earth pony, she was uniquely less susceptible to Smoky Waltz's activities.
So, she took to treating the few other remnants not host to spirits, and helping keep morale and community together and alive while ways to free everypony were in the making.

Eleventh OC Reference Project pull was Jackson Halls, the big brother of Death herself, from One For All, my religious mythology universe!
Jackson's previous incarnation was forced through an early cycle to ensure a child Ebony (the avatar of death) had a competent caregiver to represent Heaven, while Denzel was created for a similar purpose to represent Hell. Unfortunately, trapping a young man whose entire spirit is created and formed to ensure the safety and happiness of children in an isolated area with two actual children and another young man freshly birthed, well, that's asking for him to adopt them all.
All of the Halls siblings consider each other, of course, siblings, it doesn't matter that they're all from wildly different realms and species. Jackson personally helped to plan their escape and found ways to hide themselves in the mortal plane, believing children would do best without giant hierarchal systems dedicated to punishment and reward. In their escape, they lost one of their siblings, Raeriel, and Jackson still blames himself completely for this.
The survivor's guilt largely fueled his motivation to be the most productive, most providing big brother on the face of the planet. His siblings wanted for nothing, no matter what he had to do to ensure it. In the modern day, the siblings have largely reentered the divine and demonic realms, now as adults with full agency, and so Jackson has been able to ease off the grind and has set himself to the luxurious life of making dresses to sell at markets.
Ah, the sweet joys of humanity.
Of course, there was that moment when they discovered Raeriel was alive, and being held captive between realms, and Jackson might have gone a little crazy with that information and personally 1v1'd the Gate Guardian Hadraniel... But, uh, don't worry about that! That's end-game OFA stuff!
