Lyall is the falcon, Hawk is the human, and before you ask yes that does get confusing during introductions - Lyall will be quite cross if you assume he’s a hawk They’re both sapient and have separate awareness, as well as separate control of certain body parts, but their minds are blended such that they can share sensations and thoughts
