The SWTOR OC Hugging Challenge!

Dear tumblr, thanks for nothing. Didn't see I was tagged by @chaoticspacefam in notifications, luckily I saw the post myself.

Tagging (no pressure): @palepinkycat, @vespertine-legacy, @cyrraluu, @raven-of-domain-kwaad and back tag for @chaoticspacefam (for more characters :)

Rules: For each of your OCs, rate how cuddle-able they are on a scale of 1-10.

Since I have so many characters that I even forgot the number, I'll rate 7 OCs from one legacy (minus trooper) and my other two Outlanders.

Kyira (JK): 7/10 (later goes to 2/10). Wouldn't hug strangers unless they need comforting (idk, maybe someone is scared), but occasionally gives warm hugs to Jedi friends and close ones, slightly awkward about it though.

Shailla (JC): 8/10. Gives really good hugs, gives just the right amount of daily hugs required for good mood (whatever this number is supposed to be, obv more than 0) to friends, would comfort strangers with cuddles if needed.

Raen (smuggler): 10/10, loves to jumpscare with hugs sometimes. The only people safe from cuddles are enemies (until they're adopted, then thay have to go through initiation of group hugs).

Iressa (SW): 1/10, only reluctantly received a couple of hugs from Vette.

POV: you tried to hug Darth Nox. In other words, 0/10, Auletta doesn't allow anyone to touch her at all.

Jett (BH): 5/10, actually a sucker for hugs, but only really gives or receives them as she forms relationships with the crew, still awkward about receiving them.

Xaele (IA): 3/10, not used to cuddling, but could fake it for the job. Doesn't initiate hugs, but receives them sometimes from Vector (I imagine) and later from members of the Alliance.

Airistan (JK): 6/10, wouldn't hug strangers, but cuddles quite often with family members or close friends.

Vintu (SW): 0/10, but only because hugs aren't his way to express affection (or anything), for that he as biting, threats, fistfight, manhunt, murder.

What about Jett's search history? And maybe Kyira's too?

For Kyira (bc why not):

T7 participates in fights a lot and probably gets sot at, and Kyira is happy to fix the damage, but doesn't always has the time to go shopping, so online order it is.

Kyira doesn't know a nice way to tell Doc to fuck off and tries to find an answer, but loses it after another aggressive flirting and tells him to fuck off anyway.

She'd rather fight the bad guys, but the Council insists on meditating instead, saying it's better for dealing with emotions.

Meditation didn't work, back to classic.

Not officially on her search history (she clears it up right after), but Kyira needs some advice so she can set a date for once instead of her boyfriend.

For Jett:

(pre-class story) 14 y.o. teen was left alone with little to no money, cooking skills and support, and now has to survive somehow.

*mandatory research about places Jett needs to go for hunting*

But sometimes it doesn't work, bc what's the deal with Belsavis... oh *no records found*, or Voss... *no relevant data found* again?

(immediately after being adopted as a mandalorian) Gotta make dad Mandalore proud.

Tormen was even bigger pain in the ass than Seros (spoiler: it backfired terribly).

(after 5 years gap) Surely putting someone with no leadership experience in command of an alliance of sworn enemies is a good idea!

Bonus (bc I thought it's fun):

Jett needs to know, bc at this point she already started a collection of different Force-users she defeated in combat (Jedi, Sith, Voss Mystics, Revanites, Knights of Zakuul, etc)

7. Who were their friends during childhood? Are they still in touch with them?

Mostly padawans from the same training group, but the two that she still maintains friendships with are Shailla (consular) and Riell (new character). Kyira's friendship with Shailla started on accident (something like 'had to share one room'), but, as they shared stories and found something to learn from each other, it became more sincere. Riell, on the other hand, was in the same training group (as the ones mentioned above), so they went through a lot of trials and missions together.

9. When they got hurt as a child, who did they go to? How did they react?

Depends. If we're talking physical wounds, then she'd just tell one of her instructors and they'd take her to a medic, the usual. When it comes to being hurt emotionally, Kyira wasn't big on sharing about it because she didn't want to appear weak or to show that she can't handle something, which wasn't exactly usual for a child, so the Jedi who trained her had questions. But most of the time she denied that someone might have hurt her (and then asks why is her emotional control so difficult).

Even if she decided to tell about it, Kyira would only really tell one of her friends (and then they would inform one of the Masters). This continued for a long time until she went through a personal trial on Ilum (yes, I have no idea if the Jedi during the Old Republic era did this or not, but I've decided that they sent young Jedi for the crystals there as well (they just didn't make the lightsabers right afterwards), and it was considered a privilege to go through a trial on Ilum. Idc, just let me have this headcanon). To be honest, there is a whole story about her trial, but in the end, it taught Kyira to open up and accept help from others.

PRESENT

11. What’s a typical night’s sleep like for them?

Really depends on what I consider her present, so let's go from class story and on.

At the start of the class story, nothing special - a good sleep if possible, slightly uncomfortable if the situation doesn't allow to return to the ship. As Kyira is put under more and more stress (let's say near the end of chapter 2), she tends to sleep less and wake up occasionally in the middle of the night. After being possessed by the Emperor, her sleep gets slightly worse, sometimes she saw nightmares.

With Vitiate's presumed demise her state of mind seemed to get better, but, apparently, not for long. Emperor's Wrath starts her hunt by diminishing Kyira's last successful operations (like Ilum) and spreading rumors of Vitiate's survival, and it causes her to see nightmares almost every night and wake up by even the slightest sound. Doc complains a lot, and, unfortunately, Kira couldn't help much. Though working on T7's modifications sometimes calmed her mind, it didn't help completely.

Kyira only gets normal sleep after fleeing to a distant world after severing her connection to the Force (which might have helped with Force-related nightmares). Her mind became surprisingly quiet, and it helped with sleep.

FUTURE

4. What’s something they were sure would happen in their future but didn’t?

Kyira always saw herself as a Jedi. Even in possible retirement she would still help people, study the Force, maybe even become a mentor. And, of course, this is not how the story went. After experiencing so much pain in short period of time, she decided to abandon the Jedi path completely, not form connections with others and focus on the only thing that did not inflict pain in past (fixing and programming droids).

Got lucky with GTN and bought this set for Kyira, as a treat, because she deserves it (though I’d appreciate if it dyed better, especially the gloves). Give her something neat before taking it away in the most painful way, why don’t you - me @ myself. 

Bal had this set before, of course, but I forgot that she must have at least one bright color, so now I got her a new dye. Now this is Bal’sara as I intended her to look. (how do people take her seriously)

Next, Vestium has a cybernetic arm (right) after an accident, but I didn’t like his previous gloves that made both his arms cybernetic. Now it looks better (you probably can’t see it properly bc he’s too tall for the selection screen)

And my other Jedi got a new outfit as well!

Did not mean to make myself sad, but my brain decided otherwise.

After unfortunate events in her life, Kyira fled to a remote world in Outer Rim. People did not appreciate Jedi there, and since she couldn’t use the Force anymore, Kyira presented herself as a droid mechanic due to it being the only hobby of her not including anything Jedi-related. She always found repairing droids relaxing, and it often helped her to keep her insanely intense emotions in check. Even thinking about the process was enough.

Kyira never told those people who she really was, but at the very least she got to do something she liked and lived a quiet life, even if not happy.
