“Why do you always have to be so cute when you’re frowning?”
Here goes Lilith. TW for some death. she's a bit crazy here as per usual.
You were supposed to have an easy night. You were sent out with a small group to see what was causing the recent destruction in parts of the forest. Everyone was sure it was just a few animals that were having trouble lately. A bear that lost their cave or something. No one expected a giant to have moved nearby.
Everyone scattered, but that didn’t stop the giant. You watched in fear as the rest of your team was disposed of in seconds. You were shaking, the giant’s red eyes never seemed to leave you. You took in shaky breaths as the bodies of your team fell from the giant’s grip. It made you swallow hard as the giant hand started to come towards you.
The hand slowly wrapped around you, it would be interesting if you weren’t sure your life was about to end. You squeezed your eyes shut as you were grabbed. You waited for the hand to tighten and your life to snuff out. Instead the hand moved up and up and up until finally it stopped. The fingers caging you slowly pulled away and you were held at the giant’s eyes. In another lifetime you might have felt safe to say you thought they were beautiful.
“You’re different,” the giant said. Her voice was low and sweet, it seemed insane that this was the one who just killed almost a dozen people. “You didn’t even know why you were out here did you?”
You started shaking. Was the giant mad you and your team had been out here to see about the damage? The giant had probably caused it. It seemed like a lot to just be some disgruntled bears. Those eyes weren’t moving off of you and you were sure nothing could save you. You had to try multiple times to get your mouth willing to open, sound was another problem. The giant seemed patient the whole time, how could she be patiently waiting?
“W-we were out here to look into the d-damages,” you stuttered out. “I-I’m s-sure we can f-figure something out.”
The giant let out a hum before bringing their other hand closer. She picked up one of your arms and started playing with it. She rolled your arm between two of those massive fingers. In one motion she could destroy your arm. Her curiosity kept her moving though. She played with each of your legs. She would twist them slightly, those huge red eyes locked on your face. A few times you grimaced from pain, but she’d release immediately. It seemed like she cared.
“Hmm, I think I’ll keep you,” she said. Your eyes went wide and you felt your whole body shaking. “You were all sent out for me, it seems your home thinks I eat people. I was planning to drop all of your bodies back at the entrance, but you’re different. You smell wonderful as well, something I can’t fully describe.”
The giant closed her fingers around you again. You could see the lines of her fingerprints in the faint light. You felt your stomach drop as the giant stood to her full height. The fact she even noticed all of you felt like an impossibility. You could still feel her steps even as she held you. This was probably going to be how you died. You started to cautiously reach out to the fingers above you. You traced the feeling of her fingerprints, it was amazing.
You thought you heard the giant’s breath hitch as you felt her hand. That couldn’t be possible, she likely didn’t feel you at all. You continued tracing her hand, slowly moving to the lines of the palm you were on. Honestly you were intrigued, a hand that could hold you. That could encompass you completely, in a way it would feel safe if the giant hadn’t just killed the people you were here with. You were blinded as light hit your eyes, sliding quickly from the palm onto some soft surface.
You looked around quickly, the giant was inches from you. You tried to back up, but merely hit the hand that had dropped you on this surface. She was staring at you, those red eyes seemed softer now. She seemed to be studying you, a bit of her black hair falling into her face as she inched closer. It was strange, but also endearing in a way. She sighed, blowing you back further into her hand.
“Yes, I’ll punish those people for sending someone like you out to your death,” she whispered. Her voice sent shivers down your spine. You almost missed the meaning of what she said.
“W-what?! No, please don’t do that!” you yelled. You could only think of the people who you cared about, the ones that would be painful to lose.
“Hmm.” She carefully brought a finger around tilting your head up. “I won’t as long as you promise to never try to leave or run away.”
“I-I promise.”
Your face fell as the words left your mouth. There was no hope for you if you wanted the people you care about to survive. You watched a smirk appear on her face, something that made you shudder. It was like torture to see that smirk, the intrigue and safety you’d imagined in the hand were nothing anymore. The giant pet your head and you tried not to pull away.
“Why do you always have to be so cute when you’re frowning?” she sighed. You looked at her with confusion, how could she be saying always? “This isn’t the first night I’ve seen you little darling. Please call me Lilith from now on.”
