a note from the head stan in charge

soooo...ya’lll.....stan culture sucks. it feels more and more at odds with my personal values even though  - YES - i am the original head stan in charge.

i started this blog because i wanted to document and archive the rise of one of the most talented and riveting politicians of my lifetime. i noticed that no one else was doing it and stepped up. i knew she was going to be special. and 1100 fellow stans later, i am proud of what we’ve built. but i can’t help but feel less wedded to the ideology of being a ‘stan’. if AOC start fucking up, i will be the first to call it out. if she turns on her ocasio 2018 values, i will write angry treatises. i will demand accountability and, if it comes to it, delete this account. & that ain’t stan culture.

we will need a new name. that will come in 2020 i suspect.

but for now, in light of my slowwww move away from stanning, idolatry, and turning very real humans into gods to be worshiped, the new URL is ocasio2018.tumblr.com

Now here are the things:

1. She ain't wrong in what she said.

2. The left wing media continue to praise here because reasons. She is there candidate and her support is growing, so naturally anything to combat the right. Whatever works is the standard I guess.

3. The right wing media continue to bash her on the basis of what she says and does. Her growing popularity is partly thanks to them as they constantly tak about her.

4. It does not matter if you talk about someone positively or negatively; as long as you do, the popularity grows, as the goal is to appear and continue to exist in the lives of people. The moment you appear and are either a reason for happiness or frustration, you have succeeded as you are now implanted in someone's mind. If you make others think about you instead of other things they would normally do, then you have achieved your goal when it comes to becoming known.

5. She is kinda rawr.
