Nightcrawler | Ian & Seth
Personally returning to Virginia Beach had seemed like a good idea: right up until it didn’t. They hadn’t even reached the mainstrip when Ian realized that they never should have come back, at all. Nostalgia rushed over him like water, and there was nothing to do but think about the better days he had once seen here.
Being in the house itself was even worse, somehow. There were too many memories there. The boys decided that they’d stay somewhere else, but until Woodhouse figured out where that would be, Ian decided to take a walk.
It was late: he didn’t know what time it was, but he wanted to clear his head. He was walking down the boardwalk (which was still somewhat crowded, even this late) when he looked up and saw Seth Connors. He might not have said anything if Seth hadn’t seen him, too.
He didn’t know what Natalie had said to him (or hadn’t). He didn’t even really know where he stood with Natalie anymore, so where, exactly, did that put him with her brother?
There had been a time when talking with Seth was one of the easiest things in the world, but now? Now, he didn’t know what to say.
“... hey, buddy,” He said. “How’s it going?”
